内蒙古医科大学成立于1956年，是新中国在民族地区最早建立的高等医学院校之一，前身为内蒙古医学院，当时隶属于国家卫生部，1958年划归内蒙古自治区管理。2012年更名为内蒙古医科大学，2017年成为内蒙古自治区人民政府、国家卫生计生委、教育部共建高校。68年来，学校为国家培养各级各类人才12万余名，已发展为具有区域特色的多科性医科大学，在自治区经济发展、社会进步、民族团结等方面发挥重要作用。

Inner Mongolia Medical University was founded in 1956, one of the earliest medical institutions of higher learning established in ethnic regions of New China. Formerly known as Inner Mongolia Medical College, it was initially affiliated to the Ministry of Health and placed under the administration of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in 1958. Renamed Inner Mongolia Medical University in 2012, it became a joint university co-constructed by the People's Government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, the National Health and Family Planning Commission, and the Ministry of Education in 2017. Over 68 years, the university has cultivated more than 120,000 talents of various types, developing into a multi-disciplinary medical university with regional characteristics and playing a vital role in the economic development, social progress, and ethnic unity of the autonomous region.

学校坐落于呼和浩特市，设有金山（敕勒川）校区、新华校区、锡林校区及红山口教学基地，总占地面积123.19万平方米，建筑面积52.69万平方米。教学科研仪器设备总值9.62亿元，图书馆馆藏纸质文献131.99万册，中外文数据库50个。现有17个学院、13所临床医学院、3所直属附属医院及108个实践教学基地，全日制在校生16950人，涵盖本科、硕士、博士等培养层次，本科专业面向全国29个省（市、自治区）招生。

Located in Hohhot, the university has four campuses: Jinshan (Chilechuan) Campus, Xinhua Campus, Xilin Campus, and Hongshankou Teaching Base, covering a total area of 1.2319 million square meters with a building area of 526,900 square meters. The total value of teaching and research equipment reaches 962 million yuan, and the library houses 1.3199 million printed documents and 50 Chinese and foreign databases. The university comprises 17 colleges, 13 clinical medical colleges, 3 directly affiliated hospitals, and 108 practical teaching bases, with 16,950 full-time students at various levels including undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs. Its undergraduate programs enroll students from 29 provinces (municipalities and autonomous regions) nationwide.

学校学科实力雄厚，拥有1个博士后科研流动站、1个一级学科博士学位授权点、10个一级学科硕士学位授权点，36个本科专业覆盖医学、理学等6大学科门类。其中国家级一流本科专业建设点4个，国家级一流课程5门，临床医学学科进入ESI全球前5‰。师资队伍中，专任教师982人，高级职称占比63.8%，博士学位教师469人，拥有国医大师、全国名中医等国家级人才及大批自治区级高层次人才。

The university boasts strong disciplinary strength, with 1 post-doctoral research station, 1 first-level discipline doctoral program, 10 first-level discipline master's programs, and 36 undergraduate programs covering 6 disciplines including medicine and science. It has 4 national first-class undergraduate major construction sites, 5 national first-class courses, and its clinical medicine discipline ranks among the top 5‰ in ESI globally. The teaching staff includes 982 full-time teachers, with 63.8% holding senior professional titles and 469 holding doctoral degrees. It has national-level talents such as National Medical Masters and National Famous Traditional Chinese Medicine Doctors, as well as a large number of autonomous region-level high-level talents.

学校注重科研创新与社会服务，拥有国家临床重点专科8个、自治区重点实验室8个，主办《内蒙古医科大学学报》等学术期刊。近年来承担各级科研项目1976项，其中国家自然科学基金项目88项，荣获自治区科学技术奖38项，在蒙医药研究、临床医学等领域形成特色优势，为国家和地区医疗卫生事业发展提供有力支撑。

The university emphasizes scientific research innovation and social service, with 8 national key clinical specialties, 8 autonomous region-level key laboratories, and sponsors academic journals such as the "Journal of Inner Mongolia Medical University". In recent years, it has undertaken 1,976 scientific research projects at all levels, including 88 National Natural Science Foundation projects, and won 38 autonomous region science and technology awards.
