国际商业农业与技术大学（IUBAT）是孟加拉国第一所非政府大学，其最初规划始于1989年，大学正式成立于1991年，并于1992年与泰国曼谷易三仓大学达成协议后开始提供学位课程。该校大力游说创建非公立大学，并积极支持孟加拉国政府通过立法在该国正式建立非公立大学的倡议，如今依据1992年《非政府大学法》作为一所政府批准的大学运作。

International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT) is the first non-government university in Bangladesh. Its initial planning began in 1989, and the university was officially established in 1991. Degree programs started in 1992 after an agreement was reached with Assumption University in Bangkok, Thailand. The university strongly advocated for the establishment of non-public universities and actively supported the Bangladeshi government's initiative to formally establish non-public universities in the country through legislation. Now, it operates as a government-approved university under the Non-Government University Act of 1992.

The overall mission of the International University of Business Agriculture and Technology is to develop human resources through appropriate teaching, training, guidance, and the creation of knowledge conducive to the social and agricultural economic development of developing countries, with a particular focus on Bangladesh. This mission is achieved by offering courses and programs related to various aspects of knowledge, providing individuals with opportunities to acquire skills and relevant experience in their chosen professional fields. In addition, the university also provides opportunities to promote scholastic philosophy through research in different disciplines and the application of knowledge in the Bangladeshi context.
