金华职业技术大学于2024年经教育部同意以金华职业技术学院为基础整合资源设立。其前身金华职业技术学院创办于1994年，1998年经教育部批准设立，1998年至2000年期间，浙江农业机械学校、金华贸易经济学校、金华农业学校、金华师范学校、义乌师范学校、金华卫生学校相继并入。学校2007年入选国家示范性高职院校建设单位，2017年成为浙江省高职重点校，2019年6月入选国家优质专科高等职业院校，同年12月跻身中国特色高水平高职学校和专业建设计划高水平学校（A档）建设单位行列。

Jinhua Vocational and Technical University was established in 2024 with the approval of the Ministry of Education by integrating resources based on Jinhua Polytechnic. Its predecessor, Jinhua Polytechnic, was founded in 1994 and approved by the Ministry of Education in 1998. From 1998 to 2000, Zhejiang Agricultural Machinery School, Jinhua Trade and Economic School, Jinhua Agricultural School, Jinhua Normal School, Yiwu Normal School, and Jinhua Health School were successively merged into it. In 2007, the university was selected as a national model higher vocational college construction unit, became a key vocational college in Zhejiang Province in 2017, was included in the list of national high-quality junior colleges and vocational colleges in June 2019, and joined the ranks of high-level schools (Grade A) in the China特色高水平高职学校 and专业建设 plan in December of the same year.

学校紧密对接区域经济与产业结构，持续优化专业布局，设有信息工程学院、智能制造学院、航空工程学院等14个学院，开设首批本科专业6个、专科招生专业58个，另设有四年制高职试点专业2个、本科教学点专业1个以及联合专升本办学专业4个，全日制在校生达2.2万人。现有教职工1600余人，其中享受国务院政府特殊津贴等各类人才5人，全国模范教师1人，全国五一劳动奖章获得者2人，拥有国家级教师教学创新团队2个、国家高校黄大年式教师团队2个。近年来，学校在全国职业院校教学能力比赛中斩获一等奖16项、三等奖1项，获得国家级教学成果奖11项（其中一等奖2项），全国教材建设奖一等奖2项，累计立项国家级规划教材121部，立项国家级课程思政示范课4门，并获得全国课程思政教学名师和团队4个。

Closely aligning with regional economic and industrial structures, the university continuously optimizes its professional layout, with 14 colleges including the School of Information Engineering, School of Intelligent Manufacturing, and School of Aeronautical Engineering. It offers 6 first batch of undergraduate majors, 58 junior college enrollment majors, in addition to 2 four-year vocational pilot majors, 1 undergraduate teaching site major, and 4 joint undergraduate upgrading majors, with a full-time student population of 22,000. There are over 1,600 faculty members, including 5 talents enjoying special government allowances from the State Council, 1 national model teacher, 2 national May 1st Labor Medal winners, 2 national-level teacher teaching innovation teams, and 2 national university Huang Danian-style teacher teams. In recent years, the university has won 16 first prizes and 1 third prize in the National Vocational College Teaching Ability Competition, 11 national teaching achievement awards (including 2 first prizes), 2 first prizes in the National Textbook Construction Award, with a total of 121 national planned textbooks approved, 4 national curriculum ideological and political demonstration courses, and 4 national curriculum ideological and political teaching famous teachers and teams.
