吉林财经大学起步于1946年7月东北银行总行举办的银行干部训练班，历经东北银行干部学校、东北银行专门学校、中国人民银行长春银行学校、吉林财贸学院等历史时期，1978年5月恢复吉林财贸学院，1992年5月更名为长春税务学院，2010年3月更名为吉林财经大学。学校是我党在东北创办的红色金融教育基地，新中国创建的第一所金融高等学校，国家第一所也是唯一一所税务本科大学，吉林省人民政府与国家税务总局共同建设的高校，吉林省重点大学，博士学位授权单位立项建设A类高校。

Jilin University of Finance and Economics originated from the Bank Cadre Training Course held by the Northeast Bank Head Office in July 1946. It has gone through historical periods such as Northeast Bank Cadre School, Northeast Bank Specialized School, Changchun Bank School of the People's Bank of China, and Jilin Institute of Finance and Trade. In May 1978, it was restored as Jilin Institute of Finance and Trade, renamed Changchun Taxation College in May 1992, and further renamed Jilin University of Finance and Economics in March 2010. The university is a red financial education base founded by the Communist Party of China in Northeast China, the first financial institution of higher learning established in New China, the first and only undergraduate university specializing in taxation in China, a university co-constructed by the People's Government of Jilin Province and the State Taxation Administration, a key university in Jilin Province, and a Class A university for doctoral degree authorization unit project construction.

学校坐落于长春净月潭畔，校园占地面积108万平方米，馆藏纸质图书168万册、电子图书135万册。现有经济学、管理学、法学、文学、理学、工学六大学科门类，10个硕士学位授权一级学科，13个硕士专业学位类别，40个本科专业，其中国家级一流本科专业建设点16个、国家级特色专业6个。学校以“银行家的摇篮、税务系统的黄埔军校”闻名，77年来培养输送10万余名高素质专业人才，用人单位满意度持续保持97%以上，获评全国毕业生就业典型经验高校。

Located on the bank of Jingyuetan in Changchun, the university covers an area of 1.08 million square meters, with a collection of 1.68 million paper books and 1.35 million e-books. It currently has six disciplines: Economics, Management, Law, Literature, Science, and Engineering, 10 first-level disciplines authorized for master's degrees, 13 categories of master's professional degrees, and 40 undergraduate majors, including 16 national-level first-class undergraduate major construction sites and 6 national-level characteristic majors. Known as "the cradle of bankers and the Whampoa Military Academy of the taxation system", the university has cultivated and transported more than 100,000 high-quality professionals over the past 77 years, with employer satisfaction remaining above 97%, and has been awarded as a national typical experience university for graduate employment.
