嘉兴南湖学院是经国家教育部批准设立、嘉兴市人民政府举办的全日制普通本科高等学校，前身是创办于2003年的嘉兴学院南湖学院。2020年12月学校成功转设，以中国革命红船起航地嘉兴南湖命名，成为浙江省第一所完成独立学院转设的应用型本科高校，入选浙江省人工智能教育应用试点校、浙江省人工智能助力教育教学改革试点单位。

Jiaxing Nanhu University is a full-time ordinary undergraduate institution approved by the Ministry of Education and sponsored by the Jiaxing Municipal People's Government. Its predecessor was Nanhu College of Jiaxing University, founded in 2003. In December 2020, the university successfully transformed and was named after Jiaxing Nanhu, the birthplace of the Chinese revolutionary Red Boat, becoming the first application-oriented undergraduate university in Zhejiang Province to complete the transformation of independent colleges. It has been selected as a pilot school for artificial intelligence education application in Zhejiang Province and a pilot unit for artificial intelligence-assisted education and teaching reform in Zhejiang Province.

学校坚持国内一流应用型本科高校办学目标、工科为主、文理结合办学方向和“小而精、小而美、小而优”办学思路，系统构建“精学科、宽专业、厚基础”人才培养金字塔体系。近年来毕业生初次毕业去向落实率稳定在94%左右，工科专业毕业去向落实率达98%以上；近三年考研上线率实现翻一番，2025届毕业生考研上线率为15%，一大批学生被浙江大学、中山大学、厦门大学等双一流高校和悉尼大学、莫纳什大学、英国皇家艺术学院等海内外知名高校录取。

The university adheres to the goal of building a first-class application-oriented undergraduate university in China, with engineering as the main focus, combining liberal arts and sciences, and the school-running philosophy of "small but refined, small but beautiful, small but excellent". It systematically constructs a "fine disciplines, wide majors, and solid foundation" talent training pyramid system. In recent years, the initial employment rate of graduates has stabilized at around 94%, and the employment rate of engineering majors has reached over 98%. The postgraduate entrance examination rate has doubled in the past three years, with the 2025 graduates having an admission rate of 15%. A large number of students have been admitted to double first-class universities such as Zhejiang University, Sun Yat-sen University, and Xiamen University, as well as well-known domestic and foreign universities such as the University of Sydney, Monash University, and the Royal College of Art.

学校在嘉兴主城区办学，校园占地面积900亩（含规划用地200亩），馆藏纸质图书100余万册，电子图书75余万种。下设13个二级教学单位、面向全国25个省（市、自治区）招生，31个招生专业且工科专业招生占比超70%，涵盖工学、经济学、管理学、文学、法学、艺术学等6大学科门类，学科专业设置与区域产业匹配度达到90%。

The university is located in the main urban area of Jiaxing, with a campus covering an area of 900 mu (including 200 mu of planned land). It has a collection of over 1 million paper books and more than 750,000 electronic books. It has 13 secondary teaching units and enrolls students from 25 provinces (municipalities and autonomous regions) across the country. There are 31 enrollment majors, with engineering majors accounting for over 70% of enrollments, covering 6 disciplines including engineering, economics, management, literature, law, and art. The matching degree between discipline and major settings and regional industries reaches 90%.

现有省一流学科2个、省一流专业建设点5个、省重点实验教学示范中心2个、市重点实验室4个。在校全日制本科生9000人，教职工690余人，其中专任教师470余人，博士占比44%，拥有享受国务院特殊津贴专家、国家级教学成果一等奖获得者、浙江省151第一层次人才、浙江省之江青年社科学者，教师入选工业工程与自动化领域2022-2024连续三年全球Top2%顶尖科学家榜单。

It currently has 2 provincial first-class disciplines, 5 provincial first-class professional construction sites, 2 provincial key experimental teaching demonstration centers, and 4 municipal key laboratories. There are 9,000 full-time undergraduates and more than 690 faculty members, including over 470 full-time teachers, with 44% holding doctoral degrees. It has experts enjoying special government allowances from the State Council, winners of the first prize of national teaching achievements, talents of the first level of Zhejiang Province's "151 Talent Project", and Zhejiang Zhijiang Young Social Scientists. Teachers have been listed in the world's top 2% scientists in the field of industrial engineering and automation for three consecutive years from 2022 to 2024.
