嘉兴南洋职业技术学院是浙江省人民政府2002年批准设立，由上海交通大学教育（集团）有限公司、嘉兴市教育发展投资有限责任公司和浙江科技孵化开发建设有限公司共同出资举办的全日制非营利性民办高等职业院校。校名“南洋”源自上海交通大学建校之初的“南洋公学”，寓意传承上海交大优良办学传统。学校坐落于浙江省嘉兴市秀洲区大德路999号，2016年整体迁建至新校区，现有全日制在校生（含留学生）10000余人，教职工400余人，占地面积580亩。

Jiaxing Nanyang Polytechnic Institute is a full-time non-profit private higher vocational college approved by the People's Government of Zhejiang Province in 2002. It is co-founded by Shanghai Jiao Tong University Education (Group) Co., Ltd., Jiaxing Education Development Investment Co., Ltd., and Zhejiang Technology Incubation and Development Construction Co., Ltd. The name "Nanyang" originates from "Nanyang Public School", the predecessor of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, symbolizing the inheritance of the fine educational traditions of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Located at No. 999 Dade Road, Xiuzhou District, Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province, the university moved to its new campus in 2016 and now has over 10,000 full-time students (including international students), more than 400 faculty members, and covers an area of 580 mu.

学校秉持“以人为本，服务发展；面向人人，人人出彩”的办学理念，开设34个招生专业，形成船舶工程技术、机械制造及自动化、建筑工程技术等特色专业群，拥有2个省级优势专业、5个省级特色专业及8大实训基地（含4个省级示范实训基地）。近年来荣获全国民办高校创新创业教育示范学校、浙江省文明单位等称号，在2023年《中国高等职业院校竞争力白皮书》中位列全国前25%，为长三角地区培养了近3.3万名高素质技术技能人才。

Adhering to the educational philosophy of "People-Oriented, Service-Oriented; Education for All, Success for All", the institute offers 34 enrollment majors, forming characteristic professional clusters such as Ship Engineering Technology, Mechanical Manufacturing and Automation, and Construction Engineering Technology. It boasts 2 provincial-level advantageous majors, 5 provincial-level characteristic majors, and 8 training bases (including 4 provincial-level demonstration training bases). In recent years, it has been awarded titles such as "National Private University Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Demonstration School" and "Zhejiang Provincial Civilized Unit". In the 2023 "White Paper on the Competitiveness of China's Higher Vocational Colleges", it ranked among the top 25% nationwide, having cultivated nearly 33,000 high-quality technical and skilled talents for the Yangtze River Delta region.
