江西警察学院源于1951年成立的江西省公安学校，历经江西政法学院、江西政法干部学校、江西省人民警察学校、江西公安专科学校等发展阶段。2010年3月经教育部批准建立江西警察学院，为全日制普通本科院校，由江西省人民政府领导，实行江西省教育厅和江西省公安厅共同管理，以江西省公安厅为主的管理体制。2011年11月，公安部和江西省人民政府签署共建协议，在学校建立全国经济犯罪侦查教育训练基地，成为全国第一所部省共建地方公安本科院校。

Jiangxi Police Institute originated from Jiangxi Provincial Public Security School founded in 1951, and has gone through several development stages including Jiangxi Institute of Political Science and Law, Jiangxi Political and Legal Cadre School, Jiangxi Provincial People's Police School, and Jiangxi Public Security College. In March 2010, it was approved by the Ministry of Education to be established as a full-time ordinary undergraduate college. Led by the People's Government of Jiangxi Province, it is jointly managed by the Education Department of Jiangxi Province and the Public Security Department of Jiangxi Province, with the Public Security Department of Jiangxi Province as the main administrative body. In November 2011, the Ministry of Public Security and the People's Government of Jiangxi Province signed a co-construction agreement, establishing the National Economic Crime Investigation Education and Training Base at the university, making it the first provincial public security undergraduate college co-constructed by the ministry and the province in China.

学校位于江西省南昌市新建区梅岭大道1666号，校园占地1932.68亩，校舍建筑面积22.49万平方米。设有侦查学、经济犯罪侦查、治安学、刑事科学技术等11个公安专业及法学、信息安全等3个普通专业，其中经济犯罪侦查为国家一流专业，侦查学、治安学等5个专业为省级一流专业。现有教职工423人，在校生5575人，拥有国家精品课程3门，省部级精品类课程33门，是网络安全人才培养试点院校和首批工业信息安全人才培养专项行动计划实施单位。

The university is located at No. 1666, Meiling Avenue, Xinjian District, Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province, covering an area of 1932.68 mu with a school building area of 224,900 square meters. It offers 11 public security majors such as Investigation, Economic Crime Investigation, Public Security, and Criminal Science and Technology, as well as 3 general majors including Law and Information Security. Among them, Economic Crime Investigation is a national first-class major, and 5 majors such as Investigation and Public Security are provincial first-class majors. It has 423 faculty members and 5,575 students, with 3 national excellent courses and 33 provincial excellent courses. It is a pilot university for cybersecurity talent training and one of the first implementation units of the special action plan for industrial information security talent training.
