嘉应学院是一所具有百年师范教育历史的广东省属全日制公办本科高校，前身是创办于1913年的梅县县立女子师范学校，坐落于国家历史文化名城、叶剑英元帅故乡、著名革命老区、全域属原中央苏区的广东省梅州市。学校是硕士学位授予单位、广东省创建国家教师教育创新实验区建设高校，设有广东省博士后创新实践基地，面向22个省（自治区、直辖市）招生，现有普通全日制学生2.6万余人，专任教师1500多人，涵盖文学、理学、工学、法学、医学等11个学科门类，拥有63个本科专业及20多个省部级教学科研平台。

Jiaying University is a public full-time undergraduate college under the jurisdiction of Guangdong Province with a century-long history of normal education. Its predecessor was the Meixian County Women's Normal School founded in 1913, located in Meizhou City, Guangdong Province, a national historical and cultural city, the hometown of Marshal Ye Jianying, a famous old revolutionary base area, and an integral part of the former Central Soviet Area. As a master's degree-granting unit and a university participating in Guangdong Province's construction of a national teacher education innovation experimental zone, it has established a Guangdong Postdoctoral Innovation Practice Base. The university enrolls students from 22 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities), with over 26,000 full-time undergraduate students and more than 1,500 full-time teachers. It covers 11 disciplines including literature, science, engineering, law, and medicine, offering 63 undergraduate programs and over 20 provincial-level teaching and research platforms.

学校学科专业特色鲜明，拥有国家级特色专业、国家级综合改革试点专业及省级一流专业等37个，建有广东省重点实验室、普通高校人文社科重点研究基地等科研平台，校外实习基地和就业基地400多个。校园占地面积1400多亩，分江北、江南、程江、黄塘4个校区，教学仪器设备总值3.4亿多元，纸质藏书260多万册，近年来获省级以上各类奖项2100多项，是集人才培养、科学研究、社会服务于一体的区域高水平大学。

The university boasts distinct disciplinary strengths, including 37 programs such as national-level characteristic majors, national comprehensive reform pilot majors, and provincial first-class majors. It houses scientific research platforms like Guangdong Key Laboratory and Key Research Base for Humanities and Social Sciences in普通 colleges and universities, along with over 400 off-campus internship and employment bases. Covering an area of more than 1,400 mu across four campuses (Jiangbei, Jiangnan, Chengjiang, and Huangtang), it has teaching equipment worth over 340 million yuan and a paper collection of more than 2.6 million volumes. In recent years, it has won over 2,100 awards at or above the provincial level, emerging as a regional high-level university integrating talent cultivation, scientific research, and social services.
