凯里学院坐落在被誉为“森林之州、歌舞之州、神奇之州”的锦绣黔东南苗族侗族自治州州府——贵州省凯里市，是经国家教育部批准设立的全日制公办本科普通高校。2023年6月，国家民族事务委员会与贵州省人民政府签署共建凯里学院协议，凯里学院成为省部共建高校。2024年6月，凯里学院成为省管高校。学校始终坚持综合性、民族性、应用型的办学定位，秉承“立德树人、自强奋进”的校训，发扬“艰苦创业、勤俭办学、勇于争先”的办学精神，努力建成特色鲜明、区域一流的高水平综合性应用型大学。

Kaili University is located in Kaili City, Guizhou Province, the capital of the splendid Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture, known as the "Land of Forests, Land of Singing and Dancing, and Land of Wonders". It is a full-time public undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. In June 2023, the State Ethnic Affairs Commission and the People's Government of Guizhou Province signed an agreement to jointly build Kaili University, making it a university co-constructed by the ministry and the province. In June 2024, Kaili University became a provincial-managed university. The university has always adhered to the school-running orientation of comprehensiveness, ethnicity, and application, uphold the school motto of "Establishing Morality and Cultivating People, Striving for Self-improvement", and carry forward the school-running spirit of "Hard Work, Diligence in Running the School, and Courage to Be the First", striving to build a high-level comprehensive application-oriented university with distinctive characteristics and first-class in the region.

学校源于1958年创办的黔东南大学，校名几经更迭变迁。2006年经教育部批准升格为普通本科院校，由黔东南民族师范高等专科学校改建为凯里学院；2008年学校整体搬迁至凯里经济开发区新校区，2010年通过学士学位授予单位评估，2015年通过教育部本科教学工作合格评估，2019年接受教育部本科教学工作审核评估，2023年接受教育部本科教育教学审核评估。学校占地1676亩，校舍建筑面积34.2万平方米。教学科研仪器设备总值2.53亿元，馆藏纸质图书139万册、电子图书118万余册，硕博论文601万余册，电子期刊16万余册。

The university originated from Qiandongnan University founded in 1958, and its name has gone through several changes. In 2006, it was approved by the Ministry of Education to be upgraded to a regular undergraduate college, and was restructured from Qiandongnan National Normal College to Kaili University; in 2008, the university was relocated to the new campus in Kaili Economic Development Zone as a whole; in 2010, it passed the evaluation of bachelor's degree-granting units; in 2015, it passed the qualification evaluation of undergraduate teaching work by the Ministry of Education; in 2019, it accepted the audit evaluation of undergraduate teaching work by the Ministry of Education; and in 2023, it accepted the audit evaluation of undergraduate education and teaching by the Ministry of Education. The university covers an area of 1676 mu, with a school building area of 342,000 square meters. The total value of teaching and research instruments and equipment is 253 million yuan, with 1.39 million printed books, more than 1.18 million e-books, more than 6.01 million master's and doctoral theses, and more than 160,000 electronic journals in the library collection.

学校现设有二级学院16个，全日制在校生人数12008人。设置本科专业55个，涵盖教育学、工学、理学、文学、管理学、艺术学、农学等11个学科门类。有国家级综合改革试点专业1个、省级一流专业11个，国家级一流课程2门、省级一流课程108门，贵州省区域内一流建设学科1个，省级重点（特色重点、重点支持）学科8个。现有教职工1034人，其中，正高职称143人，副高职称351人；博士176人，硕士660人。拥有各级各类教学、科研平台26个，近年来累计获国家级项目35项，省部级项目110项，地厅级项目542项，横向项目168项，出版著作347部，发表学术论文4802篇，获专利授权982项。

The university currently has 16 secondary colleges with 12,008 full-time students. It offers 55 undergraduate majors, covering 11 disciplines such as Education, Engineering, Science, Literature, Management, Art, and Agriculture. There is 1 national comprehensive reform pilot major, 11 provincial first-class majors, 2 national first-class courses, 108 provincial first-class courses, 1 first-class construction discipline in Guizhou Province, and 8 provincial key (characteristic key, key support) disciplines. There are 1,034 faculty members, including 143 with senior professional titles, 351 with deputy senior professional titles, 176 doctors, and 660 masters. It has 26 teaching and research platforms at all levels. In recent years, it has accumulatively obtained 35 national-level projects, 110 provincial-level projects, 542 prefectural-level projects, and 168 horizontal projects, published 347 works, published 4,802 academic papers, and obtained 982 patent authorizations.
