昆明医科大学是云南省属重点高校，前身是创建于1933年的东陆大学医学专修科，历经云南大学医学院、昆明医学院等发展阶段，2012年更名为昆明医科大学。学校以医学为主，多学科协同发展，是西南地区重要的医学人才培养基地和医学科研创新中心。

Kunming Medical University is a key provincial university in Yunnan Province. Its predecessor was the Medical Training Department of Donglu University founded in 1933. It has gone through development stages such as the Medical College of Yunnan University and Kunming Medical College, and was renamed Kunming Medical University in 2012. With medicine as its main focus and multidisciplinary coordinated development, the university is an important medical talent training base and medical scientific research innovation center in Southwest China.

学校现有呈贡、人民西路两个校区，占地1482亩，设有21个学院（部），32个本科专业，涵盖医学、理学、工学、管理学等多个学科门类。拥有一级学科博士学位授权点5个，一级学科硕士学位授权点12个，博士专业学位授权点2个，硕士专业学位授权点7个，形成了完整的人才培养体系。

The university currently has two campuses, Chenggong and Renmin West Road, covering an area of 1482 mu. It has 21 colleges (departments) and 32 undergraduate majors, covering multiple disciplines such as medicine, science, engineering, and management. It has 5 first-level discipline doctoral degree authorization points, 12 first-level discipline master's degree authorization points, 2 professional doctoral degree authorization points, and 7 professional master's degree authorization points, forming a complete talent training system.

学校坚持立德树人根本任务，注重临床教学与科研创新，拥有4所直属附属医院、12所非直属附属医院，以及一批教学医院和实习基地，为学生提供优质的实践教学资源。近年来，学校在医学教育、临床医疗、生物医药等领域取得了显著成就，为地方医疗卫生事业和经济社会发展作出了重要贡献。

Adhering to the fundamental task of cultivating virtue and talents, the university focuses on clinical teaching and scientific research innovation. It has 4 directly affiliated hospitals, 12 non-directly affiliated hospitals, as well as a number of teaching hospitals and internship bases, providing high-quality practical teaching resources for students.
