喀什大学坐落于中国历史文化名城、素有"五口通八国、一路连欧亚"之称的喀什，是祖国最西部一所以培养基础教育师资和经济社会发展需要的应用型人才为使命的多科性本科高校。学校始建于1962年，前身为喀什师范专科学校，1978年升格为本科院校并更名为喀什师范学院，2003年获得硕士学位授予资格，2015年正式更名为喀什大学，2016年被确定为全国100所转型发展试点高校之一。学校现有高台、新泉、东城（在建）3个校区，总占地面积3350亩，馆藏各类图书143.8万册，电子图书110万种，教学仪器设备总值达2.8亿元。

Kashi University is located in Kashgar, a famous historical and cultural city in China known as "five ports connecting eight countries and one road linking Europe and Asia". It is a multidisciplinary undergraduate university in the westernmost part of China, committed to cultivating basic education teachers and applied talents needed for economic and social development. Founded in 1962 as Kashgar Normal College, it was upgraded to an undergraduate institution and renamed Kashgar Normal University in 1978. In 2003, it obtained the qualification to grant master's degrees, officially renamed Kashi University in 2015, and was identified as one of the national 100 pilot universities for transformation and development in 2016. The university now has three campuses: Gaotai, Xinquan, and Dongcheng (under construction), with a total area of 3,350 mu. It has a collection of 1.438 million books, 1.1 million kinds of e-books, and the total value of teaching instruments and equipment reaches 280 million yuan.

学校现有22个教学单位，开设62个本科专业，涵盖文、理、工、法、经、管、教、艺、史等九大学科门类，拥有5个一级学科硕士学位授权点和7个硕士专业学位授权点。教职工总数1981人，其中专任教师1467人，具有博士学位教师占比达15.6%；现有各类学生26828人，其中普通本科学生25513人、硕士研究生1075人。学校先后两次被国务院授予"全国民族团结进步模范集体"光荣称号，2022年被评为自治区民族团结进步示范学校，是中西部高校基础能力建设工程高校，形成了"胡杨般坚韧、红烛般奉献"的大学精神和"和谐包容、励志图强"的校训。

The university currently has 22 teaching units offering 62 undergraduate majors, covering nine disciplines including arts, science, engineering, law, economics, management, education, art, and history. It has 5 first-level discipline master's degree authorization points and 7 professional master's degree authorization points. The total number of faculty and staff is 1,981, including 1,467 full-time teachers, with 15.6% holding doctoral degrees. There are 26,828 students of various types, including 25,513 ordinary undergraduate students and 1,075 master's students. The university has been awarded the honorary title of "National Model Collective for National Unity and Progress" twice by the State Council and was rated as an Autonomous Region Model School for National Unity and Progress in 2022. As a university in the Midwest Higher Education Basic Capacity Building Project, it has formed the university spirit of "perseverance like populus euphratica and dedication like red candle" and the school motto of "harmony, inclusiveness, aspiration and striving for strength".
