吕梁学院坐落在山西省吕梁市离石区新城区，是晋西地区唯一的省属综合性本科院校。学校创办于1978年，始称山西师范学院吕梁专科班，2010年3月升格为普通本科院校，2019年成为硕士学位授予立项培育建设单位，2021年被列为山西省应用型本科高校建设单位。学校秉持“弘毅行知”校训，坚持“扎根吕梁、服务吕梁、研究吕梁、贡献吕梁、引领吕梁”的办学定位，形成了以吕梁精神铸魂育人的鲜明特色。

Luliang University is located in the new urban area of Lishi District, Luliang City, Shanxi Province, and is the only provincial comprehensive undergraduate college in western Shanxi. Founded in 1978 as the Luliang Junior College Class of Shanxi Normal College, it was upgraded to a regular undergraduate institution in March 2010, became a project-based cultivation unit for master's degree authorization in 2019, and was listed as a construction unit for application-oriented undergraduate universities in Shanxi Province in 2021. Adhering to the motto of "Perseverance and Practice", the university adheres to the school-running orientation of "taking root in Luliang, serving Luliang, researching Luliang, contributing to Luliang, and leading Luliang", forming a distinctive feature of cultivating people with the Luliang spirit.

学校现有主校区、创新港校区和交口分院三大校区，占地面积131.99万平方米，建筑面积66.53万平方米。设有16个教学单位，46个本科专业，涵盖文、理、工、法、农、管、教、史、艺等9大学科门类，全日制在校本科生2万余人。拥有国家级一流专业建设点、省级一流专业建设点7个，省级一流课程51门，建成百年吕梁精神教育展馆等红色育人基地，《吕梁山大合唱》复排演出填补了中国现代音乐史相关空白。

The university currently has three campuses: the main campus, the Innovation Port campus, and the Jiaokou branch, covering an area of 1.3199 million square meters with a building area of 665,300 square meters. It has 16 teaching units and 46 undergraduate majors, covering 9 disciplines including literature, science, engineering, law, agriculture, management, education, history, and art, with more than 20,000 full-time undergraduate students. It has 7 national and provincial first-class professional construction sites, 51 provincial first-class courses, and has built red education bases such as the Centennial Luliang Spirit Education Exhibition Hall. The re-staged performance of "Luliang Mountain Chorus" has filled the gap in the history of modern Chinese music.

学校坚持“科研强校”战略，拥有山西省“1331工程”优势特色学科、省级重点研究中心等6个省级科研平台，承担国家自然科学基金、社会科学基金等国家级项目10余项。师资队伍中，高级职称教师近300人，博士230人（含在读），柔性引进清华大学、北京大学等知名专家30余名。先后入选教育部“百千万工程”试点院校、工信部校企协同就业创业创新示范实践基地，5G+智慧矿山项目入选国家“5G+智慧教育”应用试点，为山西省唯一获此殊荣的高校。

Adhering to the strategy of "strengthening the university through scientific research", the university has 6 provincial-level scientific research platforms including the advantageous characteristic disciplines of Shanxi Province's "1331 Project" and provincial key research centers, and has undertaken more than 10 national-level projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation and Social Science Foundation. Among the faculty, there are nearly 300 senior title teachers, 230 doctors (including those studying), and more than 30 well-known experts from Tsinghua University and Peking University have been flexibly introduced. It has been selected as a pilot university of the Ministry of Education's "Hundred-Thousand-Ten Thousand Project" and a demonstration practice base for school-enterprise collaborative employment and entrepreneurship innovation of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The 5G+Smart Mine project was selected as a national "5G+Smart Education" application pilot, the only university in Shanxi Province to receive this honor.
