辽宁大学是一所具备文、史、哲、经、法、理、工、管、医、艺等多学科发展的综合性大学，是国家“双一流”建设高校、国家“211工程”重点建设大学、辽宁省一流大学重点建设高校。学校创办于1948年，历经东北商业专门学校、东北财经学院、辽宁大学等发展阶段，2017年入选国家“双一流”建设高校，2022年入选第二轮“双一流”建设高校，数学学科入选“双一流”建设学科。

Liaoning University is a comprehensive university with multidisciplinary development including arts, history, philosophy, economics, law, science, engineering, management, medicine, and arts. It is a national "Double First-Class" construction university, a key university under the national "211 Project", and a key construction university of Liaoning Provincial First-Class University. Founded in 1948, the university has gone through development stages such as Northeast Commercial College, Northeast University of Finance and Economics, and Liaoning University. In 2017, it was selected as a national "Double First-Class" construction university, and in 2022, it was selected as a second-round "Double First-Class" construction university, with the mathematics discipline selected as a "Double First-Class" construction discipline.

学校现有沈阳崇山、沈阳蒲河和辽阳武圣三个校区，占地面积2190亩，校舍建筑面积89.44万平方米，是国家数字校园建设试点高校、辽宁省智慧教育示范高校。学校设有27个学院，69个本科专业；有一级学科博士学位授权点20个，一级学科硕士学位授权点38个，硕士专业学位授权点26个；有博士后科研流动站19个；有国家重点学科3个，国家重点（培育）学科1个。

The university currently has three campuses: Chongshan in Shenyang, Puhe in Shenyang, and Wusheng in Liaoyang, covering an area of 2190 mu with a building area of 894,400 square meters. It is a national digital campus construction pilot university and a Liaoning Provincial smart education demonstration university. The university has 27 colleges and 69 undergraduate majors; 20 first-level discipline doctoral degree authorization points, 38 first-level discipline master's degree authorization points, and 26 master's professional degree authorization points; 19 post-doctoral research mobile stations; 3 national key disciplines and 1 national key (cultivation) discipline.
