兰州理工大学是甘肃省人民政府、教育部、国家国防科技工业局共建高校，入选国家“中西部高校基础能力建设工程”“卓越工程师教育培养计划”“新工科研究与实践项目”，是国家国防教育特色学校、全国创新创业典型经验高校，具有推荐优秀应届本科毕业生免试攻读硕士研究生资格。学校始建于1919年，历经甘肃省立工艺学校、甘肃工业大学等发展阶段，2003年更名为兰州理工大学，2018年成为甘肃省高水平大学建设高校。

Lanzhou University of Technology is a university co-constructed by the People's Government of Gansu Province, the Ministry of Education, and the State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense. It has been selected into the "Basic Ability Construction Project for Universities in Central and Western China", "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program", and "New Engineering Research and Practice Project". It is a national defense education characteristic school and a national typical university for innovation and entrepreneurship, with the qualification to recommend outstanding fresh undergraduate graduates to pursue master's degrees without examination. Founded in 1919, the university has gone through stages of development such as Gansu Provincial Technical School and Gansu University of Technology. It was renamed Lanzhou University of Technology in 2003 and became a high-level university construction university in Gansu Province in 2018.

学校现有兰工坪校区、彭家坪校区两个校区，占地面积2430亩，校舍建筑面积121万平方米。设有20个学院、1个教学研究部，66个本科专业，涵盖工学、理学、管理学、经济学、文学、法学、教育学、艺术学等8个学科门类。拥有6个博士后科研流动站、6个一级学科博士点、25个一级学科硕士点，16个硕士专业学位类别。全日制在校生32000余人，其中博士、硕士研究生6000余人，本科生26000余人。

The university currently has two campuses: Langongping Campus and Pengjiaping Campus, covering an area of 2430 mu with a building area of 1.21 million square meters. It has 20 colleges, 1 teaching and research department, and 66 undergraduate majors, covering 8 disciplines including engineering, science, management, economics, literature, law, education, and art. It has 6 post-doctoral research mobile stations, 6 first-level discipline doctoral programs, 25 first-level discipline master programs, and 16 master's professional degree categories. There are more than 32,000 full-time students, including more than 6,000 doctoral and master students, and more than 26,000 undergraduates.

学校坚持以人才培养为中心，深化教育教学改革，获批国家级一流本科专业建设点32个，国家级一流本科课程22门，国家级教学成果奖5项。注重学生创新能力培养，在“互联网+”“挑战杯”等国家级创新创业大赛中屡获佳绩，毕业生就业率连续多年位居甘肃省高校前列。

Adhering to talent cultivation as the center and deepening education and teaching reform, the university has been approved 32 national first-class undergraduate major construction sites, 22 national first-class undergraduate courses, and 5 national teaching achievement awards. It attaches importance to the cultivation of students' innovative ability, and has won many awards in national innovation and entrepreneurship competitions such as "Internet +" and "Challenge Cup". The employment rate of graduates has ranked among the top in Gansu Province for many years.

在科学研究方面，学校拥有省部共建国家重点实验室培育基地1个，国家级工程技术研究中心1个，教育部重点实验室2个，教育部工程研究中心2个，甘肃省重点实验室15个，甘肃省工程技术研究中心18个。近五年，承担国家自然科学基金、国家社会科学基金等国家级项目300余项，获省部级以上科技奖励100余项，发表SCI、EI等高水平学术论文3000余篇。

In terms of scientific research, the university has 1 national key laboratory cultivation base co-constructed by provinces and ministries, 1 national engineering technology research center, 2 key laboratories of the Ministry of Education, 2 engineering research centers of the Ministry of Education, 15 key laboratories of Gansu Province, and 18 engineering technology research centers of Gansu Province. In the past five years, it has undertaken more than 300 national projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation and the National Social Science Foundation, won more than 100 scientific and technological awards above the provincial and ministerial level, and published more than 3,000 high-level academic papers such as SCI and EI.

学校积极开展国际交流与合作，与30多个国家和地区的100余所高校建立了校际合作关系，设有国家留学基金委“国际本科学术互认课程”（ISEC）项目，招收来自20多个国家的留学生。

The university actively carries out international exchanges and cooperation, and has established inter-school cooperation relations with more than 100 universities in more than 30 countries and regions.
