龙岩学院是福建省人民政府举办的全日制普通本科高校，坐落于全国著名革命老区、原中央苏区核心区——福建省龙岩市，这里拥有红色圣地、客家祖地、生态福地、创业宝地四张亮丽名片。学校实行省市共建、以省为主的管理体制，是“十四五”时期教育强国推进工程建设高校、福建省一流应用型建设高校、福建省硕士学位授予单位培育项目建设高校、福建省文明学校。

Longyan University is a full-time ordinary undergraduate university run by the People's Government of Fujian Province. It is located in Longyan City, Fujian Province, a well-known old revolutionary base area and the core area of the former Central Soviet Area in China, which boasts four bright business cards: a red holy land, the ancestral home of Hakka, an ecological blessed land, and a business treasure land. The university implements a management system of joint construction by provinces and cities, with the province as the main body. It is a university under the "Education Power Promotion Project" during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, a first-class applied construction university in Fujian Province, a university under the cultivation project of master's degree awarding units in Fujian Province, and a civilized school in Fujian Province.

学校创办于1958年，办学历史可追溯到1958年9月开设的闽西大学师范学院（后为龙岩师范专科学校）。历经调整发展，2004年升格为本科院校并更名为龙岩学院。学校秉承“厚于德、敏于学”的校训，坚持“根植红土、致力应用、彰显特色、服务发展”的办学理念，形成了以文理为基础，做强应用学科、做精教育学科的“一体两翼”办学格局，着力培养“专业基础实、实践能力强、综合素质高”的应用型人才。

Founded in 1958, the university's educational history can be traced back to the Normal College of Minxi University (later Longyan Normal College) established in September 1958. After adjustments and development, it was upgraded to an undergraduate college and renamed Longyan University in 2004. Adhering to the school motto of "Being Virtuous and Diligent in Learning" and the school-running philosophy of "Taking Root in the Red Soil, Committed to Application, Highlighting Characteristics, and Serving Development", the university has formed a "one body and two wings" school-running pattern with arts and sciences as the foundation, strengthening applied disciplines and refining educational disciplines, and strives to cultivate applied talents with "solid professional foundation, strong practical ability and high comprehensive quality".

学校现有校园规划用地面积1300多亩，校舍建筑总面积52.67万平方米，教学科研仪器设备总值达2.4亿元，馆藏纸质图书约130万册、电子图书184万册，是闽西最大的文献信息中心。设有13个二级学院、43个本科专业，全日制本科生近1.4万人，联合培养硕士研究生238人。拥有国家级特色专业、国家级一流本科课程等优质教学资源，近20年来为社会输送了4.5万余名各级各类人才，毕业生年终毕业去向落实率多年保持在95%以上。

The university currently has a campus planning area of more than 1,300 mu, a total building area of 526,700 square meters, teaching and research equipment worth 240 million yuan, a collection of about 1.3 million paper books and 1.84 million e-books, making it the largest document information center in western Fujian. It has 13 secondary colleges and 43 undergraduate majors, with nearly 14,000 full-time undergraduates and 238 co-cultivated postgraduates. Boasting high-quality teaching resources such as national characteristic majors and national first-class undergraduate courses, it has trained more than 45,000 talents of various types at all levels for the society in the past 20 years, and the annual employment rate of graduates has remained above 95% for many years.

学校聚焦区域产业发展需求，构建了以现代特色农业、机械装备、有色金属、新材料新能源、文化旅游、电子信息、数字经济等产业为重点的专业集群，积极推进校地、校企合作，与天津大学等高校建立对口支援关系，拥有30多个省部级科研创新平台，十三五以来获国家级科研项目43项，省级科技进步奖等各类奖项25项，为地方经济社会发展提供了有力的人才支撑和智力服务。

Focusing on the needs of regional industrial development, the university has built professional clusters focusing on industries such as modern characteristic agriculture, mechanical equipment, non-ferrous metals, new materials and new energy, cultural tourism, electronic information, and digital economy. It actively promotes school-local and school-enterprise cooperation, has established counterpart support relations with universities such as Tianjin University, and has more than 30 provincial and ministerial-level scientific research innovation platforms. Since the 13th Five-Year Plan, it has obtained 43 national-level scientific research projects and 25 various awards such as provincial science and technology progress awards, providing strong talent support and intellectual services for local economic and social development.
