兰州财经大学是国家布局在西部地区重要的财经类院校，是黄河流域上游唯一一所具有本、硕、博人才培养体系的财经大学。学校起始于1952年成立的甘肃省人民政府行政干部学校；1958年升格为甘肃财经学院，实施本科教育；1981年成立兰州商学院，先后隶属原国家商业部、国内贸易部；1998年实行中央与地方共建、以甘肃为主的管理体制；2015年更名为兰州财经大学，2018年增列为博士学位授予单位，2023年获批设立统计学博士后科研流动站。

Lanzhou University of Finance and Economics is an important financial and economic institution strategically located in western China, and the only university in the upper Yellow River basin with a complete talent cultivation system covering undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs. Its origins date back to the Gansu Provincial People's Government Administrative Cadre School founded in 1952. It was upgraded to Gansu College of Finance and Economics in 1958 to offer undergraduate education, renamed Lanzhou Commercial College in 1981 under the jurisdiction of the former Ministry of Commerce and later the Ministry of Domestic Trade. In 1998, it adopted a joint management system by the central and local governments with Gansu Province as the main administrator. The university was renamed Lanzhou University of Finance and Economics in 2015, became a doctoral degree-granting institution in 2018, and established a post-doctoral research station in Statistics in 2023.

学校现有和平、段家滩、东岗三个校区，占地面积1700余亩，校舍建筑面积73万多平方米。图书馆馆藏纸质图书258.03万册、电子资源888.2万册，是甘肃省重要的经济管理类文献资料信息中心。学校以统计学为引领，形成了应用经济学、工商管理学为主体，多学科交叉融合的学科体系，拥有统计学博士后科研流动站、1个博士学位授权一级学科点、8个硕士学位授权一级学科点及20个硕士专业学位授权点。现有全日制在校生近2.5万人，教职工1537人，其中专任教师1198人，具有教授、副教授职称教师576人。建校70余年来，共为国家特别是西北地区培养输送了18万余名经济管理类专门人才。

The university has three campuses (Heping, Duanjiatan, and Donggang) covering an area of over 1,700 mu (113 hectares) with a building area of more than 730,000 square meters. Its library houses 2.58 million printed books and 8.882 million electronic resources, serving as a key information center for economic and management literature in Gansu Province. With Statistics as its leading discipline, the university has developed a interdisciplinary system centered on Applied Economics and Business Administration, featuring a post-doctoral research station in Statistics, 1 doctoral degree authorization discipline, 8 first-level master's degree authorization disciplines, and 20 professional master's degree programs. It has nearly 25,000 full-time students and 1,537 faculty members, including 1,198 full-time teachers with 576 professors and associate professors. Over its 70-year history, the university has cultivated more than 180,000 economic management professionals for China, particularly in northwest regions.
