Belgorod State University was founded in 1876 and is one of the oldest universities in Russia. Today, it has become the center of higher education, scientific research, and culture in the Belgorod region. Characterized by the integration of traditional teaching and innovative research, the university's mission is to address international and national-level research issues, cultivate high-quality professionals, and enhance the competitiveness of Russia and the Belgorod region globally.

The university currently has 31,000 students, including 619 international students from 49 countries. It boasts a strong faculty of 1,590 teachers, including 2 national award winners, 200 professors and doctors, and 745 associate professors and candidate doctors. The university comprises 21 departments, 83 teaching and research sections, 2 branch campuses, and 1 medical school. It offers multi-level education programs such as bachelor's, master's, candidate of science, and doctor of science degrees, covering various fields including mathematics, linguistics, biology, economics, and computer science.

学校拥有超过60个配备最新设备的研究中心与实验室，构建了独特的科研基地，学生从大一开始即可在导师指导下参与科研活动。此外，学校还设有9个教育和研究创新综合体、11个阅览室、9个图书馆（藏书120万册）及9个专业博物馆，并建有霍尔金娜综合体育馆等完善的文体设施，为学生提供优质的学习与生活环境。

The university has over 60 research centers and laboratories equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, forming a unique research base where students can participate in research activities under the guidance of mentors from their first year. In addition, it features 9 educational and research innovation complexes, 11 reading rooms, 9 libraries with 1.2 million books, and 9 specialized museums. The university also has well-developed cultural and sports facilities such as the Khorkina Sports Complex, providing an excellent learning and living environment for students.
