宁波职业技术大学是国有公办的本科层次职业学校，于2025年经教育部批准设立，其前身是1999年建立的宁波职业技术学院，办学历史可追溯到1959年。学校是28所首批国家示范性高等职业院校之一，先后入选浙江省重点建设高职院校、国家优质专科高等职业院校、首轮中国特色高水平高职学校和专业建设计划，曾荣获教育部、国家发改委等七部门联合授予的全国职业教育先进单位称号和中华职教社黄炎培职业教育优秀学校奖，是全国高等职业学校校长联席会议主席单位和秘书处单位。

Ningbo Vocational and Technical University is a public undergraduate vocational school approved by the Ministry of Education in 2025. Its predecessor was Ningbo Polytechnic established in 1999, with a school-running history dating back to 1959. It is one of the first 28 national demonstration higher vocational colleges, and has successively been selected as a key construction higher vocational college in Zhejiang Province, a national high-quality junior college higher vocational college, and the first round of China's characteristic high-level vocational schools and professional construction plan. It has won the title of National Advanced Unit in Vocational Education jointly awarded by seven ministries including the Ministry of Education and the National Development and Reform Commission, and the Huang Yanpei Vocational Education Excellent School Award from the China Vocational Education Association. It is the chairman unit and secretariat unit of the National Joint Conference of Presidents of Higher Vocational Schools.

学校地处以“书藏古今、港通天下”闻名的宁波，占地1100多亩，设有北仑、鄞州、余姚等校区，北仑校区毗邻货物吞吐量世界第一的宁波舟山港。学校下设8个专业性二级学院，招生专业44个，独立设置贺贤土学院，聚焦首批6个职教本科专业学生培养。现有全日制本专科在校生12000多人。学校紧密对接浙江省“415X”先进制造业集群、宁波市“361”现代化产业体系，形成了8大专业群。校城融合、校企合作深植于学校的办学基因中，政校企三方合作办学、合作育人、合作就业的发展模式为中国职业教育发展贡献了“宁波模式”，并在2009年获得宁波高等教育历史上第一个国家级高等教育教学成果奖一等奖。

Located in Ningbo, known as "a city of books and a port connecting the world", the university covers an area of more than 1100 mu, with campuses in Beilun, Yinzhou and Yuyao. The Beilun campus is adjacent to the Ningbo-Zhoushan Port, which has the world's largest cargo throughput. The university has 8 professional secondary colleges, 44 enrollment majors, and an independently established Hexiantu College focusing on the cultivation of students in the first batch of 6 vocational undergraduate majors. There are more than 12,000 full-time undergraduate and junior college students. Closely connecting with Zhejiang's "415X" advanced manufacturing cluster and Ningbo's "361" modern industrial system, the university has formed 8 major professional groups. The integration of the university with the city and enterprises is deeply rooted in its educational genes. The development model of government-enterprise-school cooperation in running schools, educating people and employment has contributed the "Ningbo Model" to the development of China's vocational education, and won the first first prize of national higher education teaching achievement award in the history of Ningbo higher education in 2009.

学校实施一流人才培养，为区域发展提供智力支撑。在软科综合类高职排名中位列全国第3，12个专业进入金平果高职专业排行榜前十。学校多年来与海天集团、吉利汽车、舜宇集团等行业龙头企业开展校企协同育人，入选教育部现代学徒制现场工程师人才培养试点5个，校企共同开发国家精品在线开放课程10门，主持国家级资源库4个。毕业生就业对口率超过80%，规上企业就业比例超过25%，薪资超过区域同类高校平均水平20%，涌现出一批全国技术能手、浙江青年工匠和宁波市首席工人。培养学生在高级别学科和技能竞赛中屡获佳绩，连续两届获全国“挑战杯”大学生创业计划竞赛高职组总成绩第一名，在世界职业院校技能大赛中累计获一等奖8项。

The university implements first-class talent training to provide intellectual support for regional development. It ranks 3rd in the national ranking of comprehensive higher vocational colleges by Soft Science, and 12 majors are among the top 10 in the Golden Apple Higher Vocational Major Ranking. For many years, the university has carried out school-enterprise collaborative education with industry leaders such as Haitian Group, Geely Automobile, and Sunny Optical Group. It has been selected into 5 pilot projects of the Ministry of Education for the training of modern apprenticeship field engineers. The school and enterprises have jointly developed 10 national high-quality online open courses and presided over 4 national resource banks. The employment对口 rate of graduates exceeds 80%, the employment proportion in large-scale enterprises exceeds 25%, and the salary is 20% higher than the average level of similar local colleges and universities. A number of national technical experts, Zhejiang young craftsmen and Ningbo chief workers have emerged. The students have achieved excellent results in high-level discipline and skill competitions, winning the first place in the total score of the higher vocational group in the National "Challenge Cup" College Students' Entrepreneurship Plan Competition for two consecutive sessions, and accumulating 8 first prizes in the World Vocational College Skills Competition.

It has cultivated a high-level faculty represented by national famous teachers and experts enjoying government special allowances, and a group of teachers' ethics models represented by national March 8th Red Banner Holders, national May 1st Labor Medal winners, and national advanced individuals in ethnic unity and progress. Professor Sun Xiangdong, a national famous teacher, was selected into "40 People in 40 Years of Ningbo Education", and Professor Wang Zhengcai, a national-level teaching famous teacher, won the Huang Yanpei Vocational Education Outstanding Teacher Award, inheriting and driving a number of Zhejiang craftsmen and middle-aged and young industry famous teachers. The university has flexibly introduced a number of national intangible cultural heritage inheritors, arts and crafts masters, and great country craftsmen, and built skill master studios, intangible cultural heritage inheritance studios, and model worker technician studios to infiltrate students' craftsmanship with masters' craftsmanship.
