南昌航空大学是一所以工为主，工、理、文、管、经、法、教、艺等学科协调发展的多科性大学，具有鲜明的航空、国防特色。学校创建于1952年，前身为汉口航空工业学校，历经南昌航空工业学校、江西工业学院、南昌航空工业学院等发展阶段，2007年更名为南昌航空大学。

Nanchang Hangkong University is a multidisciplinary university focusing on engineering, with coordinated development of disciplines such as science, liberal arts, management, economics, law, education, and art, featuring distinct aviation and national defense characteristics. Founded in 1952, the university was formerly known as Hankou Aviation Industry School, and has gone through stages of development such as Nanchang Aviation Industry School, Jiangxi Institute of Technology, and Nanchang Institute of Aeronautical Technology. It was renamed Nanchang Hangkong University in 2007.

学校现有前湖、上海路、共青城三个校区，占地面积3500余亩。设有20个学院，65个本科专业，拥有17个一级学科硕士点，12个硕士专业学位授权类别，5个一级学科博士点，3个博士后科研流动站。学校面向全国31个省（自治区、直辖市）招生，现有全日制在校生2.6万余人，其中研究生4000余人。

The university currently has three campuses: Qianhu, Shanghai Road, and Gongqingcheng, covering an area of more than 3,500 mu. It has 20 colleges, 65 undergraduate majors, 17 first-level discipline master's programs, 12 master's professional degree authorization categories, 5 first-level discipline doctoral programs, and 3 post-doctoral research stations. The university enrolls students from 31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government) across the country, with more than 26,000 full-time students, including more than 4,000 graduate students.

学校始终坚持立德树人根本任务，着力培养基础扎实、知识面宽、实践能力强、具有创新精神和社会责任感的高素质应用型人才。近年来，学校在教学改革、科学研究、社会服务等方面取得了显著成绩，先后获得国家级教学成果奖、国家科技进步奖等多项荣誉，为我国航空航天事业和地方经济社会发展作出了重要贡献。
