华北理工大学轻工学院成立于2001年，是经河北省政府批准、国家教育部确认，由华北理工大学举办的独立学院。学院位于京津冀协同发展战略核心区域的河北省唐山市，环境优美，办学设施完善，是一所以工为主，理、经、管、文、法、艺等多学科协调发展的全日制普通本科院校。依托华北理工大学的优质教育资源，学院聚焦高素质应用型人才培养，现开设70个本科专业、16个专科专业，在校生规模达万余人，形成了覆盖多个领域的学科专业体系。

North China University of Science and Technology College of Light Industry, founded in 2001, is an independent college approved by the Hebei Provincial Government and recognized by the Ministry of Education, sponsored by North China University of Science and Technology. Located in Tangshan City, Hebei Province, a core area of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development strategy, the college boasts a beautiful environment and well-equipped facilities. As a full-time general undergraduate institution, it primarily focuses on engineering while developing coordinated disciplines in science, economics, management, humanities, law, and arts. Leveraging the high-quality educational resources of its parent university, the college specializes in cultivating high-quality applied talents, offering 70 undergraduate programs and 16 junior college programs with a student enrollment of over 10,000, forming a comprehensive disciplinary system covering multiple fields.

学院以“厚德博学、求实创新”为校训，坚持产教融合、校企合作的办学模式，建有120余个校外实习实训基地，与京津冀地区企业实现深度对接。近年来，学生在国际数学建模竞赛、全国电子设计大赛等省级以上赛事中获奖千余项，毕业生就业率连续保持在95%以上，涌现出大批创新创业典型。学院先后荣获“全国先进独立学院”“中国民办大学百强”等称号，2025年获评“年度民办高校领航品牌”，成为区域应用型人才培养的重要基地。

With the motto "Virtue, Erudition, Truth-seeking, Innovation", the college adheres to the school-running model of integrating industry and education, and university-enterprise cooperation. It has established over 120 off-campus internship and training bases, achieving in-depth collaboration with enterprises in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. In recent years, students have won more than 1,000 awards in provincial and above competitions such as the International Mathematical Modeling Competition and the National Electronic Design Competition. The employment rate of graduates has remained above 95% for consecutive years, producing numerous outstanding examples of innovation and entrepreneurship. The college has successively been awarded titles like "National Advanced Independent College" and "Top 100 Chinese Private Universities", and was honored as the "Annual Leading Brand of Private Colleges" in 2025, emerging as a key base for applied talent cultivation in the region.
