宁德师范学院是教育部批准成立的全日制普通本科高校，其办学历史可追溯至1958年成立的福安师范专科学校。习近平总书记在宁德工作期间曾六次到校考察调研、两次为师生作形势政策报告，对学校提出“扎根闽东大地办教育”的殷切期望。学校于2010年3月升格为本科层次院校，2024年被确定为新增硕士学位授予单位，获批教育、材料与化工和生物与医药三个硕士学位授权点，2022年入选福建省一流应用型本科高校。

Ningde Normal University is a full-time public undergraduate institution approved by the Ministry of Education, with its roots tracing back to Fu'an Normal Junior College founded in 1958. During his work in Ningde, General Secretary Xi Jinping visited the university six times for inspections and delivered two situation policy reports to teachers and students, expressing the earnest expectation that the university "root itself in the land of Mindong to run education". Upgraded to an undergraduate institution in March 2010, it was identified as a new master's degree-granting unit in 2024, with three authorized master's programs in Education, Materials and Chemical Engineering, and Biology and Medicine. In 2022, it was selected as a first-class applied undergraduate university in Fujian Province.

学校现有东侨、蕉城两个校区，占地面积1047.59亩，校舍建筑面积约35.04万平方米，馆藏纸质书刊超128万册。设有14个二级学院，40个本科专业，涵盖教育学、文学、理学、工学、医学等九大学科门类，全日制本科在校生11663人。拥有国家级一流课程2门、省级一流课程41门，省级重点学科2个、省级一流专业9个，形成了以教师教育为特色、多学科协调发展的办学格局。

The university has two campuses (Dongqiao and Jiaocheng) covering an area of 1047.59 mu, with a building area of approximately 350,400 square meters and over 1.28 million paper books in its collection. It comprises 14 secondary colleges offering 40 undergraduate programs spanning nine disciplines including Education, Literature, Science, Engineering, and Medicine, with 11,663 full-time undergraduate students. Boasting 2 national first-class courses, 41 provincial first-class courses, 2 provincial key disciplines, and 9 provincial first-class majors, it has formed a school-running pattern featuring teacher education with coordinated development of multiple disciplines.

近年来，学校深化教育教学改革，大力推进产教融合与科研创新，建有省部级科研平台24个，获国家级科研项目45项，近五年学生参加省部级以上学科竞赛获奖1083项。学校积极服务地方发展，紧密对接宁德新能源、新材料等主导产业，培养了大批应用型人才，为区域经济社会发展作出重要贡献。

In recent years, the university has deepened educational and teaching reforms, vigorously promoted industry-education integration and scientific research innovation. It has established 24 provincial-level scientific research platforms and obtained 45 national-level scientific research projects. In the past five years, students have won 1,083 awards in provincial and above discipline competitions. Actively serving local development, the university closely aligns with Ningde's leading industries such as new energy and new materials, cultivating a large number of applied talents and making important contributions to regional economic and social development.
