南京邮电大学是国家“双一流”建设高校和江苏高水平大学建设高峰计划A类建设高校，其前身是1942年诞生于山东抗日根据地的八路军战邮干训班，是我党、我军早期系统培养通信人才的学校之一。学校历经华东邮电学校、南京电信学校、南京邮电学院等发展阶段，1958年开始招收本科学生，1978年开始招收硕士研究生，1993年更名为南京邮电大学，2005年4月，原南京邮电学院和原南京人口管理干部学院合并，组建新的南京邮电大学。

Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications (NJUPT) is a national "Double First-Class" construction university and a Class A university in the Jiangsu High-Level University Construction Peak Plan. Its predecessor was the Eighth Route Army War Post Training Class founded in the Shandong Anti-Japanese Base Area in 1942, which was one of the early schools of the Communist Party of China and the People's Liberation Army to systematically train communication talents. The university has gone through stages of development such as East China Posts and Telecommunications School, Nanjing Telecommunications School, and Nanjing Institute of Posts and Telecommunications. It began enrolling undergraduate students in 1958, postgraduate students in 1978, was renamed Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications in 1993, and in April 2005, the former Nanjing Institute of Posts and Telecommunications and the former Nanjing Institute of Population Management merged to form the new Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications.

学校坚持以信息学科为特色，工、理、经、管、文、教、艺、法等多学科相互交融，博士、硕士、本科等多层次教育协调发展的办学格局，在长期的办学过程中，形成了“勤奋、求实、进取、创新”的优良校风。学校现有仙林、三牌楼、锁金村、江宁四个校区，主校区位于南京市栖霞区仙林大学城。

The university adheres to the school-running pattern characterized by information disciplines, with the integration of multiple disciplines such as engineering, science, economics, management, literature, education, art, and law, and the coordinated development of multi-level education including doctoral, master's, and undergraduate programs. In the long-term school-running process, it has formed a fine school spirit of "Diligence, Practicality, Enterprise, and Innovation". The university currently has four campuses: Xianlin, Sanpailou, Suojincun, and Jiangning, with the main campus located in Xianlin University Town, Qixia District, Nanjing.
