内蒙古体育职业学院前身为始建于1965年的内蒙古体育专科学校，隶属于自治区体育局。2001年6月经内蒙古自治区人民政府批准，组建成为内蒙古体育职业学院，办学形式为全日制高等职业教育，兼办中等职业教育。学院是自治区唯一一所体育高等职业院校，以培养实用型、技能型、管理型中高级专门体育人才为目标，同时承担自治区体育二线队伍建设和后备人才输送任务。

Inner Mongolia Vocational College of Physical Education originated from Inner Mongolia Physical Education College founded in 1965, affiliated to the regional Sports Bureau. Approved by the People's Government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in June 2001, it was reorganized into Inner Mongolia Vocational College of Physical Education, offering full-time higher vocational education and secondary vocational education concurrently. As the only higher vocational college of physical education in the autonomous region, it aims to cultivate practical, skilled and managerial intermediate and senior specialized sports talents, while undertaking the tasks of building the regional sports reserve team and transporting reserve talents.

学院占地约100亩，建筑面积6万平方米，拥有教学楼、图书楼、体操馆、摔跤馆、田径场等配套设施，以及生理实验室、新闻实验室等先进教学设备。高职设有运动训练、民航空中安全保卫、民族传统体育、体育教育等11个专业，中职涵盖田径、摔跤、足球等多个运动项目。近年来，学院积极打造自治区体育系统“训练中心、文化中心、人才中心、科研中心、培训中心”，完成国家级科研项目3项，编辑出版多部体育文化书籍，并与中航联盟、奥威马业等企业开展深度校企合作。

The college covers an area of about 100 mu with a building area of 60,000 square meters. It has supporting facilities such as teaching buildings, library buildings, gymnastics halls, wrestling halls, and track and field grounds, as well as advanced teaching equipment including physiological laboratories and news laboratories. The college offers 11 higher vocational majors such as Sports Training, Civil Aviation Air Security, Ethnic Traditional Sports, and Physical Education, and secondary vocational programs covering track and field, wrestling, football and other sports events. In recent years, the college has actively built itself into the "training center, cultural center, talent center, scientific research center and training center" of the regional sports system, completed 3 national-level scientific research projects, edited and published many sports culture books, and carried out in-depth school-enterprise cooperation with enterprises such as China Aviation Alliance and Aowei Horse Industry.
