西北大学肇始于1902年的陕西大学堂和京师大学堂速成科仕学馆，是一所历史悠久、底蕴深厚的综合性全国重点大学，位列国家“双一流”“211工程”建设高校。学校坐落于古都西安，现有太白、桃园、长安三个校区，占地面积2360余亩，设有24个院（系）和研究生院，拥有12个学科门类，涵盖了人文社科、理工农医等多个领域。

Northwest University originated from Shaanxi University Hall in 1902 and the Imperial University Hall's Express Course for Official Studies. It is a comprehensive national key university with a long history and profound heritage, ranked among the national "Double First-Class" and "211 Project" universities. Located in the ancient capital Xi'an, the university has three campuses: Taibai, Taoyuan, and Chang'an, covering an area of over 2,360 mu. It has 24 colleges (departments) and a graduate school, with 12 disciplines covering humanities and social sciences, science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, and other fields.

学校始终坚持以人才培养为中心，致力于培养具有家国情怀、国际视野、创新精神和实践能力的高素质人才。现有全日制本科生2.4万余人，研究生1.3万余人，外国留学生近千人。在长期的办学实践中，形成了“勤奋、严谨、求实、创新”的优良校风，为国家和社会培养了大批优秀人才，其中不乏两院院士、省部级领导、行业领军人物等。

The university has always adhered to talent cultivation as the center and is committed to cultivating high-quality talents with a sense of family and country, international vision, innovative spirit, and practical ability. Currently, it has over 24,000 full-time undergraduate students, more than 13,000 graduate students, and nearly 1,000 international students. In the long-term school-running practice, it has formed the fine school spirit of "Diligence, Rigor, Realism, and Innovation", and has cultivated a large number of outstanding talents for the country and society, including academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering, provincial and ministerial leaders, and industry leaders.

在学科建设方面，西北大学拥有地质学、考古学2个“双一流”建设学科，1个国家重点学科（一级），4个国家重点学科（二级），1个国家重点（培育）学科。学校科研实力雄厚，设有1个国家重点实验室，1个国家工程技术研究中心，3个国家国际科技合作基地等多个国家级科研平台，在地质学、考古学、经济学、化学、材料科学等领域取得了一系列重要科研成果。

In terms of discipline construction, Northwest University has 2 "Double First-Class" construction disciplines: Geology and Archaeology, 1 national key discipline (first-level), 4 national key disciplines (second-level), and 1 national key (cultivation) discipline. The university has strong scientific research strength, with 1 national key laboratory, 1 national engineering technology research center, 3 national international science and technology cooperation bases, and other national-level scientific research platforms. It has achieved a series of important scientific research results in fields such as geology, archaeology, economics, chemistry, and materials science.
