川北医学院坐落在四川省历史文化名城、三国文化发祥地——南充市，现有顺庆和高坪两个校区，占地面积1000余亩。学校前身是1951年创办的西南区川北医士学校，1965年升格为专科，1985年升格为本科并定名为川北医学院。作为省属高等医学院校，学校坚持“艰苦奋斗、自强不息”的办学精神，秉承“敬业、博爱、求是、创新”的校训，现已发展成为以医学为主体，医、文、管、法、工、教多学科协调发展的高校，是全国首批“卓越医生教育培养计划”试点建设高校、四川省医学影像学和临床医学本科人才培养基地。

North Sichuan Medical College is located in Nanchong, a famous historical and cultural city in Sichuan Province and the birthplace of the Three Kingdoms culture. It has two campuses, Shunqing and Gaoping, covering an area of more than 1,000 mu. The predecessor of the school was the Southwest Sichuan Medical School founded in 1951. It was upgraded to a junior college in 1965 and renamed North Sichuan Medical College as a undergraduate college in 1985. As a provincial medical college, it adheres to the school-running spirit of "hard work and self-improvement" and the school motto of "Dedication, Fraternity, Seeking Truth, Innovation". It has developed into a university with medicine as the main body and coordinated development of medicine, literature, management, law, engineering and education. It is one of the first pilot universities for the "Excellent Doctor Education and Training Program" in China and the undergraduate talent training base for medical imaging and clinical medicine in Sichuan Province.

学校办学层次完善，2006年获硕士学位授予权，2023年获批四川省新增博士学位授予立项建设单位优先培育类高校。现有19个二级学院，开设26个本科专业，其中国家级一流本科专业建设点3个，省级一流本科专业建设点10个；临床医学学科进入ESI全球排名前1%。全日制在校生1.9万余人，包括本科生、研究生、留学生等。师资队伍中享受政府特殊津贴专家、省级学术技术带头人等100余人，建有3所直属附属医院和11所非直属附属医院，教学科研仪器设备总值超7400万元，为人才培养和医学研究提供坚实支撑。

The university has a complete educational hierarchy. It obtained the right to grant master's degrees in 2006 and was approved as a priority cultivation university for the addition of doctoral degree authorization in Sichuan Province in 2023. It has 19 secondary colleges and offers 26 undergraduate majors, including 3 national first-class undergraduate major construction sites and 10 provincial first-class undergraduate major construction sites. The clinical medicine discipline has entered the top 1% of ESI global ranking. There are more than 19,000 full-time students, including undergraduates, postgraduates and international students. Among the faculty, there are more than 100 experts enjoying special government allowances and provincial academic and technical leaders. It has 3 directly affiliated hospitals and 11 non-directly affiliated hospitals, with a total value of teaching and research instruments and equipment exceeding 74 million yuan, providing solid support for talent training and medical research.
