Founded in 1986, Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH) is a leading research-oriented science and technology university in South Korea, renowned for its strengths in engineering and science, and a member of the Association of Pacific Rim Universities. 学校学科设置以理工科为核心，涵盖化学、生命科学、数学、物理、工程类（机械、材料、电子电气、计算机等）及人文社会科学，本科阶段设有12个系和1个学部，研究生院设16个院系及2个专门研究所（铁和铁合金技术研究院、信息技术研究院）。教学特色包括全英文授课（研究生院）、小班化精品教育（师生比1:4.3）及高额奖学金支持，本科生及研究生均有机会获得学费减免及生活补助。

POSTECH's academic programs focus on science and engineering, covering chemistry, life sciences, mathematics, physics, engineering (mechanical, materials, electrical and electronic, computer science, etc.), and humanities and social sciences. It offers 12 departments and 1 division at the undergraduate level, 16 graduate departments, and 2 specialized research institutes (GIFT for Iron and Steel Technology, and IT Research Institute). Key educational features include English-medium instruction (graduate programs), small-class elite education (1:4.3 faculty-to-student ratio), and substantial scholarship support, with both undergraduate and graduate students eligible for tuition waivers and living allowances.

科研实力方面，浦项科技大学拥有70多个研究中心及国家级实验机构，如加速器试验室、国家纳米材料研究中心、智能机器人研究中心等，重点领域包括核研究、人工智能、先进材料、分子生物科学等。2009年数据显示，全校教师人均发表6篇学术论文，其中SCI收录论文达5.8篇/人，体现其国际顶尖的研究水准。学校还与19个国家的70所高校建立合作关系，包括中国的清华大学、北京大学等，积极推动国际学术交流与跨学科研究。

In research, POSTECH houses over 70 research centers and national-level laboratories, such as the Accelerator Laboratory, National Nanomaterials Research Center, and Intelligent Robotics Research Center, with key focus areas including nuclear research, artificial intelligence, advanced materials, and molecular biosciences. Data from 2009 shows that faculty members published an average of 6 academic papers per person, with 5.8 indexed in SCI, reflecting world-class research standards. The university has also established partnerships with 70 institutions in 19 countries, including Tsinghua University and Peking University in China, actively promoting international academic exchange and interdisciplinary research.

在国际排名中，浦项科技大学表现亮眼，曾获泰晤士高等教育世界年轻大学排名第1位，亚洲大学排名稳居前10。其办学成果得到韩国政府高度认可，1996-2004年连续九年被选为国家教育改革试点院校，多次获评韩国工科大学首位及全国学术鉴定第一名，是韩国科技人才培养与创新研究的核心基地。

Internationally, POSTECH has achieved remarkable rankings, including 1st place in the Times Higher Education Young University Rankings and consistently ranking within the top 10 Asian universities.
