青岛恒星科技学院的前身为青岛恒星科技专修学院，2000年经青岛市教育委员会批准筹建；2003年经山东省人民政府批准成立青岛恒星职业技术学院；2014年经教育部批准升格为普通本科高校；2018年获得学士学位授予权。学校坐落于美丽的沿海开放城市青岛，位于青岛东部高校园区核心区位，现占地面积157余万平方米，校舍建筑面积80余万平方米，教学科研仪器设备总值超1.6亿元，图书馆馆藏纸质图书170万余册、电子图书140万册。

Qingdao Hengxing University of Science and Technology originated from Qingdao Hengxing Science and Technology College. It was approved to be established by Qingdao Municipal Education Commission in 2000, upgraded to Qingdao Hengxing Vocational and Technical College with the approval of Shandong Provincial People's Government in 2003,升格为 an ordinary undergraduate university upon the approval of the Ministry of Education in 2014, and obtained the right to grant bachelor's degrees in 2018. Located in the beautiful coastal open city of Qingdao, the university is situated in the core area of Qingdao Eastern University Park, covering an area of more than 1.57 million square meters with a school building area of over 800,000 square meters. The total value of teaching and research instruments and equipment exceeds 160 million yuan, and the library has a collection of more than 1.7 million paper books and 1.4 million e-books.

学校坚持地方性、应用型办学定位，秉承“文明、博学、实践、创新”的校训，实施“质量立校、人才强校、特色兴校、创新活校”的发展战略。现开设本科专业48个，在校生2.8万余人，涵盖工学、管理学、艺术学等9个学科门类，形成了以工学、管理学为主，多学科协调发展的学科专业布局。建有3个省级一流本科专业，4个省民办本科高校优势特色专业，确立了“一个目标、二个模式、三全育人、四教四成、五育并举”的应用型人才培养思路，构建了具有恒星特色的“工学交替、实岗真做”教学模式。

Adhering to the local and application-oriented school-running orientation, the university upholds the school motto of "Civilization, Erudition, Practice, Innovation" and implements the development strategy of "Establishing the University by Quality, Strengthening the University by Talents, Vitalizing the University by Characteristics, and Enlivening the University by Innovation". Currently, it offers 48 undergraduate majors with more than 28,000 students, covering 9 disciplines including Engineering, Management, and Arts, forming a disciplinary and professional layout dominated by Engineering and Management and featuring coordinated development of multiple disciplines. It has 3 provincial first-class undergraduate majors and 4 advantageous and characteristic majors of private undergraduate universities in Shandong Province. The university has established the application-oriented talent training idea of "One Goal, Two Modes, Three-All Education, Four Teachings and Four Achievements, and Five Educations Simultaneously", and constructed the teaching mode of "Work-Study Alternation and Real Work Practice" with Hengxing characteristics.

学校师资力量雄厚，现有专任教师1259人，具有硕士及以上学位者占比85.07%，双师双能型教师占比32.32%。近年来，承担市厅级及以上教改研究项目近60项，荣获山东省教学成果奖一等奖1项、二等奖3项；学生在大学生创新创业大赛中获国家级奖96项、省级奖452项。学校先后荣获“山东省德育工作优秀高校”“全国青少年普法教育先进单位”等荣誉称号，2021年入选山东省第二批应用型本科高校建设单位。

The university boasts a strong teaching staff, with 1,259 full-time teachers, among whom 85.07% have master's degrees or above, and 32.32% are double-qualified and double-capable teachers. In recent years, it has undertaken nearly 60 teaching reform research projects at or above the municipal and departmental level, and won 1 first prize and 3 second prizes of Shandong Provincial Teaching Achievement Awards. Students have won 96 national awards and 452 provincial awards in college students' innovation and entrepreneurship competitions. The university has successively been awarded the honorary titles of "Excellent University for Moral Education Work in Shandong Province" and "Advanced Unit for National Youth Law Popularization Education", and was selected as the second batch of application-oriented undergraduate university construction units in Shandong Province in 2021.
