Shanghai Business School is a public applied undergraduate university with distinctive business characteristics. Its predecessor was the East China Branch of the Central Taxation School founded in 1950. The university fully implements the Party's educational policy, adheres to the original aspiration of "cultivating talents for the Party and the country", upholds the school-running philosophy of "establishing the university with commerce and focusing on application", and inherits the school motto of "Virtue, Erudition, and Serving the People through Economics". It strives to create application-oriented, innovative, and international school-running characteristics, and endeavors to cultivate high-quality applied business talents with social responsibility, professional literacy, practical ability, innovative spirit, and international vision.

学校现有奉浦、中山西路、漕宝路、国权路四个校区和福州路一个办学点，全日制在校生9000余人，教职工700余人。设有12个二级学院，29个本科专业，6个硕士专业学位授权点，形成了从本科生到研究生的多层次教育架构。工商管理、电子商务、酒店管理等5个专业为国家级一流本科专业建设点，8个专业为上海市级一流本科专业建设点，4个专业通过ACBSP国际认证，食品质量与安全专业通过IFT专业认证。

The university currently has four campuses (Fengpu, Zhongshan West Road, Caobao Road, Guoquan Road) and one teaching site on Fuzhou Road, with over 9,000 full-time students and more than 700 faculty members. It has 12 secondary colleges, 29 undergraduate majors, and 6 professional master's degree authorization points, forming a multi-level education structure from undergraduate to postgraduate. Five majors including Business Administration, E-commerce, and Hotel Management are national first-class undergraduate major construction sites, 8 majors are Shanghai municipal first-class undergraduate major construction sites, 4 majors have passed ACBSP international certification, and the Food Quality and Safety major has passed IFT professional certification.

学校注重产教融合与国际交流，建有商务部国际商务官员研修基地，累计培训来自145个国家（地区）的9393位商务官员，与瑞士洛桑酒店管理学院等108所海外高校及机构开展合作，发起成立“一带一路”国际商科教育联盟，着力培养适应全球商业环境的复合型人才。

The university focuses on industry-education integration and international exchanges. It has established a研修基地 for international business officials of the Ministry of Commerce, which has trained 9,393 business officials from 145 countries (regions). It has carried out cooperation with 108 overseas universities and institutions such as the Swiss Hotel Management School in Lausanne, and initiated the establishment of the "the Belt and Road" International Business Education Alliance, striving to cultivate compound talents adapted to the global business environment.

近五年，学生在世界技能大赛、“互联网+”大学生创新创业大赛等赛事中获省部级以上荣誉2000余项，其中国家级奖项600余项。学校先后入选教育部新工科、新农科、新文科项目建设单位，拥有国家级一流本科课程5门、市级一流本科课程25门，是上海市创新创业教育实践基地和世界技能大赛中国集训基地。

In the past five years, students have won more than 2,000 provincial and ministerial level honors in competitions such as the World Skills Competition and the "Internet +" College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, including more than 600 national awards. The university has been successively selected as a construction unit for the Ministry of Education's new engineering, new agricultural science, and new liberal arts projects. It has 5 national first-class undergraduate courses and 25 municipal first-class undergraduate courses, and is a Shanghai innovation and entrepreneurship education practice base and a China training base for the World Skills Competition.
