四川体育职业学院座落于素有天府之国美誉的历史文化名城四川成都，是四川省体育局直属全额拨款事业单位（副厅级），承担着四川备战全运会的主要任务，是四川为国家奥运争光计划培养和输送优秀竞技体育人才的主阵地，也是全省各类体育人才的重要培养基地。先后被评为中国田径协会国家田径队训练基地、国家羽毛球训练基地、国家级高水平体育后备人才基地。

Sichuan Sports College is located in Chengdu, Sichuan, a famous historical and cultural city known as the "Land of Abundance". It is a fully funded public institution directly under the Sichuan Provincial Sports Bureau (at the deputy department level). The college undertakes the main task of preparing Sichuan for the National Games, serving as the primary base for cultivating and输送 outstanding competitive sports talents for the national "Olympic Glory Program" and an important training base for various sports talents in the province. It has successively been awarded the National Track and Field Team Training Base by the Chinese Athletics Association, the National Badminton Training Base, and the National High-Level Sports Reserve Talent Base.

学院最早可追溯到1951年西南区体育会篮排球队；前身为1981年成立的四川省运动技术学院；1986年获国家教委批准备案为成人高等学校（举办专科层次成人高等教育）；2018年3月4日，经省政府批准正式改制为四川体育职业学院。截至2022年11月，学校占地1005.63亩，有教职员工520名、运动员590名，其中国家级教练9名、高级教练58名、一级教练72名，拥有涵盖18个奥运大项的运动队，下设田径、足球等项目和专为运动员开展文化教育服务的教育中心等23个系（中心）和职能部门。

The college traces its origins back to the Basketball and Volleyball Team of the Southwest Sports Association founded in 1951. Its predecessor, the Sichuan Provincial Institute of Sports Technology, was established in 1981. In 1986, it was approved by the State Education Commission as an adult higher education institution (offering junior college-level adult higher education). On March 4, 2018, with the approval of the provincial government, it was officially restructured into Sichuan Sports College. As of November 2022, the college covers an area of 1005.63 mu, with 520 faculty members and 590 athletes, including 9 national-level coaches, 58 senior coaches, and 72 first-level coaches. It has sports teams covering 18 Olympic events and 23 departments (centers) and functional departments, including track and field, football, and an education center dedicated to providing cultural education services for athletes.
