山东协和学院始建于1993年，2003年纳入国家普通高职统招计划，2004年成为普通高职院校，2011年经教育部批准升格为普通本科高校。学校是山东省民办本科高等教育特色名校立项建设单位，2017年接受教育部本科教学工作合格评估，40个观测点满票通过。

Shandong Xiehe University was founded in 1993. In 2003, it was included in the national general higher vocational enrollment plan. In 2004, it became a general higher vocational college. In 2011, it was upgraded to a general undergraduate university with the approval of the Ministry of Education. The university is a project construction unit of characteristic prestigious private undergraduate higher education institutions in Shandong Province. In 2017, it accepted the qualification assessment of undergraduate teaching by the Ministry of Education, and 40 observation points passed with full votes.

学校形成以医学为特色，医学、工学、文学、管理学、教育学、艺术学等多学科协调发展的学科专业格局，下设8个教学院（部），开设44个普通本科专业。拥有国家级一流本科专业建设点4个、省级一流本科专业建设点8个，国家级一流本科课程5门、省级一流本科课程29门。

The university has formed a disciplinary and professional pattern with medicine as its characteristic, and coordinated development of multiple disciplines such as medicine, engineering, literature, management, education, and art. It has 8 teaching colleges (departments) and offers 44 ordinary undergraduate majors. It has 4 national first-class undergraduate major construction sites, 8 provincial first-class undergraduate major construction sites, 5 national first-class undergraduate courses, and 29 provincial first-class undergraduate courses.

学校现有专任教师1600多人，全日制在校生三万多人，其中本科生两万多人。建有国家级实验教学示范中心、国家级虚拟仿真实验教学中心等教学科研平台，与155家单位建立合作关系。近年来获国家级教学成果二等奖5项，承担纵向科研项目1800多项，授权专利730多件。

The university currently has more than 1,600 full-time teachers and more than 30,000 full-time students, including more than 20,000 undergraduates. It has built teaching and research platforms such as the National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center and the National Virtual Simulation Experimental Teaching Center, and has established cooperative relations with 155 units.
