上海财经大学是中华人民共和国教育部直属的一所以经济管理学科为主，经、管、法、文、理、哲等多学科协调发展的研究型重点大学，是国家“双一流”建设高校，国家“211工程”“985工程优势学科创新平台”重点建设高校。学校源于1917年南京高等师范学校开设的商科，历经国立东南大学商学院、国立中央大学商学院、国立上海商学院等阶段，1950年更名为上海财政经济学院，1985年更名为上海财经大学。

Shanghai University of Finance and Economics (SUFE) is a key research university directly under the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. It mainly focuses on economics and management disciplines, with coordinated development of multiple disciplines such as economics, management, law, literature, science, and philosophy. It is a "Double First-Class" construction university, and a key construction university of the national "211 Project" and "985 Project Advantage Discipline Innovation Platform". The university originated from the Business Department of Nanjing Higher Normal School founded in 1917, went through stages such as the Business School of National Southeast University, the Business School of National Central University, and the National Shanghai College of Commerce. In 1950, it was renamed Shanghai College of Finance and Economics, and in 1985, it was renamed Shanghai University of Finance and Economics.

学校设有28个学院（部、中心），涵盖本科、硕士、博士等多层次人才培养体系，拥有国家重点学科4个，国家一流本科专业建设点42个。学校师资力量雄厚，现有专任教师1000余人，其中具有正高级职称的教师300余人，副高级职称的教师400余人，拥有国家级人才项目入选者100余人次。学校坚持立德树人根本任务，以“厚德博学，经济匡时”为校训，致力于培养具有全球视野、家国情怀、创新精神和实践能力的高素质财经人才。

The university has 28 schools (departments, centers), covering a multi-level talent training system including undergraduate, master, and doctoral programs. It has 4 national key disciplines and 42 national first-class undergraduate major construction sites. The university has a strong faculty, with more than 1,000 full-time teachers, including over 300 teachers with senior professional titles and more than 400 teachers with associate senior professional titles, and more than 100 people selected into national talent projects. Adhering to the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, with the school motto of "Houde Boxue, Jingji Kuangshi" (Virtue and Erudition, Assisting the Times through Economics), the university is committed to cultivating high-quality financial and economic talents with a global perspective, national feelings, innovative spirit and practical ability.
