上海工商外国语职业学院创建于2001年，坐落于浦东航空港与洋山深水港之间，是经上海市人民政府批准、国家教育部备案的民办全日制普通高等院校，全称为上海工商外国语职业学院有限公司。学校现有在校生8000余人，是上海市办学规模最大的民办高职院校之一，遵循党的教育方针，立足上海、面向长三角、辐射中西部地区，以培养语言类应用型人才和涉外服务复合型人才为主，为国际化城市上海现代服务业输送外语见长、职业能力突出的一线优秀复合型人才。

Shanghai Institute of Commerce & Foreign Languages was founded in 2001 and is located between Pudong International Airport and Yangshan Deep-Water Port. It is a private full-time ordinary higher education institution approved by the Shanghai Municipal People's Government and registered with the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, with the full name being Shanghai Institute of Commerce & Foreign Languages Co., Ltd. The university currently has over 8,000 students and is one of the largest private vocational colleges in Shanghai in terms of enrollment scale. Adhering to the Party's educational policy, it is rooted in Shanghai, oriented towards the Yangtze River Delta, and radiates to central and western regions. It mainly cultivates application-oriented language talents and compound talents for foreign-related services, providing frontline outstanding compound talents with strong foreign language proficiency and professional capabilities for the modern service industry in the international metropolis of Shanghai.

学校教育教学设施完善，拥有中央财政支持的数控技术实训基地、外语情景实训基地等4个市级实训高地，建成傅雷生平陈列馆、中韩文化交流史料馆等人文教育场馆，以及68个实验实训室，与150多家企业共建校外实训基地。开设英、日、德、法、韩、俄、西班牙等7个语种及商务、智能制造、大数据技术等27个专业，师资队伍中硕士及以上学历教师占比超80%，外籍教师6人，留学归国教师45人，获上海市教学名师奖2人、市级教学团队7个。

The university boasts well-equipped educational and teaching facilities, including 4 municipal-level training centers such as the CNC Technology Training Base and Foreign Language Scenario Training Base supported by central finance. It has also established cultural education venues like the Fu Lei Life Exhibition Hall and China-Korea Cultural Exchange Archives, along with 68 laboratories and training rooms, and has jointly built off-campus training bases with over 150 enterprises. The university offers 27 programs covering 7 languages (English, Japanese, German, French, Korean, Russian, and Spanish) as well as business, intelligent manufacturing, big data technology, etc. Over 80% of its faculty hold master's degrees or above, including 6 foreign teachers and 45 returned overseas scholars. It has 2 Shanghai Municipal Teaching Masters and 7 municipal-level teaching teams.

学校坚持“外语见长、突出技能”的育人方针，积极探索“外语平台+职业技能模块”培养模式，每年超30%毕业生通过国内外专升本深造，就业签约率连年位居上海同类院校前列。先后获得教育部高等职业教育创新发展行动计划骨干专业3个、上海市重点专业5个，承办国家商务部援助发展中国家财政官员培训项目，与18个国家近百所高校开展国际交流合作，获评中国民办高等教育优秀院校、上海市文明单位等荣誉称号。

Adhering to the educational philosophy of "emphasizing foreign languages and highlighting skills", the university actively explores the "foreign language platform + vocational skill module" training model. Over 30% of its graduates pursue further studies at home and abroad for bachelor's degrees each year, and its employment contract rate has ranked among the top of similar institutions in Shanghai for years. It has been awarded 3 backbone majors under the Ministry of Education's Higher Vocational Education Innovation and Development Action Plan and 5 key majors in Shanghai. The university has hosted training programs for financial officials from developing countries aided by the Ministry of Commerce, carried out international exchanges and cooperation with nearly 100 universities in 18 countries, and has been honored as an Excellent Private Higher Education Institution in China and a Civilized Unit in Shanghai.
