上海海事职业技术学院是一所经上海市政府批准、国家教育部认可，具有独立事业单位法人资格的专门培养航运高技能人才的普通高校，历史可追溯到1958年成立的上海海运学院中专部。学院隶属于中国远洋海运集团有限公司，由中远海运人才发展院代管，教学业务接受上海市教委主管，地处上海市浦东陆家嘴金融贸易区，校园占地74.65亩，建筑面积79151.02平方米，拥有完善的教学、生活设施。

Shanghai Maritime Vocational and Technical College is an ordinary institution of higher learning approved by the Shanghai Municipal Government and recognized by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, with independent legal person qualification as a public institution, specializing in cultivating high-skilled talents in shipping. Its history can be traced back to the Secondary Vocational Department of Shanghai Maritime University established in 1958. Affiliated to China COSCO Shipping Group Co., Ltd. and managed by COSCO Shipping Talent Development Institute, the college is under the supervision of Shanghai Municipal Education Commission for teaching affairs. Located in the Lujiazui Financial and Trade Zone of Pudong, Shanghai, the campus covers an area of 74.65 mu (about 49,767 square meters) with a building area of 79,151.02 square meters, and has complete teaching and living facilities.

学院以集团陆岸职工培训、学历教育为主要业务，年培训量约11903人次、41588人天，平均每年大专学历班招生120人，开设港口与航运管理、现代物流管理、关务与外贸服务、港口机械与智能控制四个专业。学院于1986年在上海地区率先试办高等职业教育，是上海市从事高等职业教育历史最长的院校之一，2002年起连续十四年被授予上海市文明单位称号，2012年被列入上海市特色高等职业院校建设项目及上海市高技能人才培养基地，并获得国家技能人才培育突出贡献奖，2022年航运管理专业入选上海市高水平高职专业群建设名单。

The college mainly focuses on onshore employee training and academic education for the group, with an annual training volume of approximately 11,903 person-times and 41,588 person-days. It enrolls an average of 120 students in college diploma programs each year, offering four majors: Port and Shipping Management, Modern Logistics Management, Customs Affairs and Foreign Trade Services, and Port Machinery and Intelligent Control. In 1986, the college took the lead in running higher vocational education in Shanghai, making it one of the institutions with the longest history of higher vocational education in Shanghai. Since 2002, it has been awarded the title of "Shanghai Civilized Unit" for 14 consecutive years. In 2012, it was included in the Shanghai Characteristic Higher Vocational College Construction Project and Shanghai High-skilled Talent Training Base, and won the National Outstanding Contribution Award for Skilled Talent Cultivation. In 2022, the Shipping Management major was selected into the list of Shanghai High-level Vocational Major Group Construction.
