上海电力大学是中央与上海市共建、以上海市管理为主的全日制普通高等院校，创建于1951年，历经上海电业学校、上海电力学校、上海电力专科学校、上海电力学院等发展阶段，2018年更名为上海电力大学。学校以电力特色为核心，工、管、理、经、文、法、艺等多学科协调发展，是教育部首批“卓越工程师教育培养计划”试点院校，国家电网公司“订单式”培养高校，致力于培养具有家国情怀、国际视野、创新精神和实践能力的高素质复合型人才。

Shanghai University of Electric Power (SUEP) is a full-time ordinary institution of higher education jointly built by the central government and Shanghai Municipality, with Shanghai Municipality being the main administrative body. Founded in 1951, it has gone through stages of development including Shanghai Electric Power School, Shanghai Electric Power College, and Shanghai University of Electric Power (renamed in 2018). With electrical power as its core feature, the university promotes coordinated development of multiple disciplines such as engineering, management, science, economics, literature, law, and arts. It is among the first batch of pilot universities for the "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program" of the Ministry of Education and a "order-based" training university of the State Grid Corporation, dedicated to cultivating high-quality compound talents with patriotism, international vision, innovative spirit and practical ability.

学校现有杨浦、浦东两个校区，占地近1200亩，全日制在校生1.4万余人，教职工1100余人，其中高级职称教师400余人，拥有双聘院士、国家杰青、长江学者等国家级人才30余人次。学科建设方面，电气工程学科入选上海市IV类高峰学科，动力工程及工程热物理、环境科学与工程等学科为上海市重点学科，形成了以能源电力为核心，覆盖发电、输电、配电、用电全产业链的学科专业体系。

The university currently has two campuses in Yangpu and Pudong, covering an area of nearly 1,200 mu, with over 14,000 full-time students and more than 1,100 faculty members, including over 400 teachers with senior professional titles and more than 30 national-level talents such as double-employed academicians, National Outstanding Youth Fund recipients, and Yangtze River Scholars. In terms of discipline construction, the discipline of Electrical Engineering was selected as a Class IV Peak Discipline in Shanghai, while disciplines such as Power Engineering and Engineering Thermophysics, and Environmental Science and Engineering are key disciplines in Shanghai. It has formed a disciplinary and professional system centered on energy and electricity, covering the entire industrial chain of power generation, transmission, distribution, and consumption.

学校坚持产学研用深度融合，建有国家级实验教学示范中心、国家级虚拟仿真实验教学中心、教育部国际合作联合实验室等高水平科研平台，与国家电网、南方电网、华能集团等能源电力企业建立了紧密合作关系，承担国家级、省部级科研项目500余项，获国家科技进步奖、上海市科技进步奖等省部级以上奖项80余项，在智能电网、新能源发电、储能技术、节能环保等领域形成了鲜明的科研特色和优势。

The university adheres to deep integration of industry, education, research and application, and has built high-level scientific research platforms such as a national experimental teaching demonstration center, a national virtual simulation experimental teaching center, and a Ministry of Education international cooperation joint laboratory. It has established close cooperative relations with energy and power enterprises such as State Grid, China Southern Power Grid, and Huaneng Group. It has undertaken more than 500 national and ministerial-level scientific research projects, and has won more than 80 awards at or above the ministerial level, including the National Science and Technology Progress Award and the Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award. It has formed distinctive scientific research characteristics and advantages in fields such as smart grids, new energy power generation, energy storage technology, energy conservation and environmental protection.
