上海对外经贸大学是一所以经济学、管理学、法学为主，文学、理学、工学等多学科协调发展的财经类高校，是华东地区国际化人才培养和对外经济贸易、外国语言文化、国际战略研究的重要基地。学校前身为创建于1960年的上海对外贸易学院，1994年划归上海市人民政府管理，2013年更名为上海对外经贸大学。

Shanghai University of International Business and Economics (SUIBE) is a finance and economics-oriented university with coordinated development of multiple disciplines including economics, management, law, literature, science, and engineering. It is an important base in East China for cultivating international talents and conducting research on foreign economic and trade, foreign language and culture, and international strategy. The university was formerly known as Shanghai Institute of Foreign Trade founded in 1960, was placed under the administration of the Shanghai Municipal People's Government in 1994, and was renamed Shanghai University of International Business and Economics in 2013.

学校坚持“以学生为本、以学术为魂”的办学理念，着力培养“知识、能力、素质”协调发展，具有全球视野、本土情怀、创新精神和实践能力的复合型、应用型、创新型人才。现有松江、古北、七宝三个校区，设有20个学院（部），开设48个本科专业，涵盖经、管、文、法、理、工六大学科门类。

Adhering to the educational philosophy of "student-oriented and academic-centered", the university strives to cultivate compound, application-oriented and innovative talents with coordinated development of "knowledge, ability and quality", global vision, local feelings, innovative spirit and practical ability. It currently has three campuses in Songjiang, Gubei and Qibao, with 20 schools (departments) offering 48 undergraduate majors covering six disciplines: economics, management, literature, law, science and engineering.

学校高度重视国际交流与合作，与全球100多个国家和地区的200余所高校、机构建立了合作关系，积极开展中外合作办学、学生交换、师资互访、科研合作等国际化办学项目，形成了鲜明的国际化办学特色。

The university attaches great importance to international exchanges and cooperation, having established cooperative relations with more than 200 universities and institutions in over 100 countries and regions around the world. It actively carries out international education programs such as Sino-foreign cooperative education, student exchange, faculty mutual visits, and scientific research cooperation, forming distinct international characteristics in running the university.
