沈阳工业大学是一所以工为主，涵盖工、理、经、管、文、法、哲、艺术等八大学科门类的多科性研究应用型大学，是国家“双一流”建设高校。学校始建于1949年，前身为沈阳机电学院，1985年更名为沈阳工业大学，2017年入选国家“双一流”建设高校名单。

Shenyang University of Technology is a multidisciplinary research-oriented application university focusing on engineering, covering eight disciplines including engineering, science, economics, management, literature, law, philosophy and art. It is a national "Double First-Class" construction university. Founded in 1949, the university was formerly known as Shenyang Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. It was renamed Shenyang University of Technology in 1985 and was selected into the list of national "Double First-Class" construction universities in 2017.

学校现有沈阳、辽阳两个校区，总占地面积151.18万平方米，校舍建筑面积71.71万平方米。设有22个学院、2个教学部和1个工程实训中心，开设63个本科专业，拥有10个博士后科研流动站，10个一级学科博士点，26个一级学科硕士点，15个硕士专业学位类别。

The university currently has two campuses in Shenyang and Liaoyang, with a total area of 1.5118 million square meters and a building area of 717,100 square meters. It has 22 colleges, 2 teaching departments and 1 engineering training center, offering 63 undergraduate majors, 10 post-doctoral research stations, 10 first-level discipline doctoral programs, 26 first-level discipline master programs and 15 master professional degree categories.

学校始终坚持立德树人根本任务，着力培养高素质应用型创新人才。现有全日制本科生、研究生、留学生2万余人，教职工1900余人，其中专任教师1200余人，具有高级职称教师600余人，博士生导师180余人。近年来，学校在教学改革、科学研究、社会服务等方面取得了显著成绩，为国家和地方经济社会发展作出了重要贡献。
