晋中信息学院（原山西农业大学信息学院）成立于2002年，是经国家教育部批准、由山西省教育厅主管的全日制普通本科高校。2020年12月，学校正式更名为晋中信息学院，成为山西省首批成功转设的高校之一。学校坐落于晋商文化名城、孟母故里——山西太谷，占地面积近1000亩，建筑面积43.2万平方米，目前在校生2万2千余人。

Jinzhong College of Information (formerly Information College of Shanxi Agricultural University) was founded in 2002. It is a full-time ordinary undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of Education and supervised by the Shanxi Provincial Department of Education. In December 2020, the university was officially renamed Jinzhong College of Information, becoming one of the first universities in Shanxi Province to successfully transform.

学校紧扣“信息产业商学院”办学定位，构建了以信息科技为特色，工、管、经、艺、文、农等多学科协调发展的专业体系，开设有46个本科专业及若干国际合作项目。在山西省内率先实施全员书院制改革，设立12大书院和8个二级学院，通过“四位一体双院制”育人模式（完满教育×通识教育×商科教育×专业教育；书院×学院），培育具有信息产业背景的高情商经营管理人才。

The university closely adheres to the school-running orientation of "Information Industry Business School", and has built a professional system with information technology as its特色, and coordinated development of engineering, management, economics, art, literature, agriculture and other disciplines, offering 46 undergraduate majors and several international cooperation projects. It took the lead in implementing the full书院制 reform in Shanxi Province, establishing 12 colleges and 8 secondary colleges, and cultivating high-emotional intelligence management talents with information industry background through the "four-in-one double-college system" education model (Complete Education × General Education × Business Education × Professional Education; College × Academy).

学校秉承“乐教、乐学、创造、创业”校训，致力于建设“双一流之外的首选大学”。近年来，学生在各类学科竞赛中累计获国家级奖项200余项、省级奖项1500余项，就业率保持在90%以上，考研达线率超30%，先后荣获“教育部国防教育特色学校”“全国最具就业竞争力示范院校”等荣誉称号。

Adhering to the school motto of "Happy Teaching, Happy Learning, Creation, Entrepreneurship", the university is committed to building "the first choice university outside the Double First-Class". In recent years, students have won more than 200 national awards and more than 1,500 provincial awards in various discipline competitions. The employment rate has remained above 90%, and the postgraduate entrance examination rate has exceeded 30%. It has successively won the honorary titles of "Ministry of Education National Defense Education Characteristic School" and "National Model College with the Most Employment Competitiveness".
