山西金融职业学院是经山西省人民政府批准、由国家教育部备案、山西省教育厅主管的一所金融类全日制普通高校，位居晋商文化源远流长的古城太原，以培养金融及财经行业高等应用型人才为主要目标。学院前身为1978年建校的山西银行学校，始终秉持“立足金融、立足应用、立足一线”的办学特色。

Shanxi Vocational College of Finance is a full-time financial institution approved by the People's Government of Shanxi Province, registered with the Ministry of Education, and administered by the Shanxi Provincial Department of Education. Located in the ancient city of Taiyuan with a long history of Jin merchant culture, the college aims to cultivate high-level applied talents for the financial and economic industries. Formerly known as Shanxi Banking School founded in 1978, it has always adhered to the school-running characteristics of "based on finance, application and frontline practice".

学院形成以金融为主线，会计、信息技术、经济管理、文化传播等专业群协调发展的架构，开设22个专业。其中金融管理和会计专业被认定为“高等职业教育创新发展行动计划”骨干专业，金融管理与实务、会计电算化专业为中央财政支持的重点建设专业，计算机应用技术专业是全国技能紧缺人才培养基地。

The college has developed a professional structure with finance as the main line, coordinated by accounting, information technology, economic management, and cultural communication. It offers 22 majors, including Finance Management and Accounting recognized as key majors under the "Higher Vocational Education Innovation and Development Action Plan", Finance Management & Practice and Accounting Computerization supported by central finance, and Computer Application Technology as a national training base for skilled talents in short supply.

截至2023年，学院拥有国家级职业教育在线精品课程1门、省级3门，获省级教学成果奖特等奖1项，学生技能竞赛获国家级奖项10个。建设有16个理实一体化教室，1+X证书试点专业覆盖全部专业，形成“职业技能与职业精神高度融合”的育人模式，是山西省文明校园和高校文明单位标兵。

As of 2023, the college has 1 national and 3 provincial online quality courses for vocational education, 1 provincial special prize for teaching achievements, and 10 national awards in student skill competitions. Equipped with 16 integrated theory-practice classrooms and 1+X certificate pilot programs covering all majors, it has formed an education model integrating vocational skills and spirit. It is honored as a Civilized Campus and Advanced Civilized Unit among Shanxi colleges.
