山西医药学院前身为1923年创办的汾阳医院附设高级职业护士学校，2025年2月经教育部批准正式设置为公办普通本科学校，由山西省政府举办、省教育厅管理。学校扎根吕梁革命老区，秉承“仁术爱仁，精益求精”的办学精神，形成以护理学教育为特色，医、理、工、管多学科协调发展的办学格局。

Shanxi University of Medicine traces its origins to the Advanced Vocational Nursing School Affiliated to Fenyang Hospital, founded in 1923. Approved by the Ministry of Education in February 2025, it was officially established as a public undergraduate institution, sponsored by the Shanxi Provincial Government and administered by the Provincial Department of Education. Rooted in the old revolutionary base area of Lüliang, the university upholds the educational philosophy of "Benevolent Skills, Compassionate Care, Excellence Pursuit" and has developed a distinctive educational model featuring nursing education with coordinated development of medicine, science, engineering, and management disciplines.

学校现有汾阳、孝义两个校区，占地面积1117亩，总建筑面积32万平方米。设有15个本科专业，拥有6个国家级一流专业建设点（含护理学1个国家级特色专业）、6个省级一流专业建设点，形成“厚基础、强技能、重人文”的办学特色。现有全日制在校生10065人，专任教师985人，其中高级职称教师591人，3所附属医院及109个临床实践教学基地为学生提供优质实践平台。

The university has two campuses in Fenyang and Xiaoyi, covering an area of 1117 mu with a total construction area of 320,000 square meters. It offers 15 undergraduate programs, including 6 national first-class professional construction sites (including nursing as a national characteristic major) and 6 provincial first-class professional construction sites, embodying the educational characteristics of "solid foundation, strong skills, and emphasis on humanities". Currently, it has 10,065 full-time students and 985 full-time teachers, among whom 591 hold senior professional titles. Three affiliated hospitals and 109 clinical practice teaching bases provide high-quality practical platforms for students.

百年来，学校培养了以南丁格尔奖获得者王桂英、杨辉，全国抗疫先进个人何华为代表的4.7万余名医药卫生人才。护理学专业教学团队荣获“全国三八红旗集体”称号，1人获全国高校教师教学创新大赛一等奖，实现山西省医学教育该奖项零的突破。学校现为山西护工、吕梁山护工培训教育基地，为区域医疗卫生事业发展作出重要贡献。

Over the past century, the university has cultivated more than 47,000 medical and health talents, represented by Nightingale Award winners Wang Guiying and Yang Hui, and National Advanced Individual in COVID-19 Prevention and Control He Hua. The nursing teaching team has been awarded the title of "National March 8th Red Banner Collective", and one teacher won the first prize in the National College Teachers' Teaching Innovation Competition, achieving a breakthrough in Shanxi medical education in this award. The university now serves as a training base for Shanxi nurses and Lüliangshan nurses, making important contributions to the development of regional medical and health undertakings.
