山西警察学院是经国家教育部批准设立、山西省人民政府举办的普通高等学校，主管部门为山西省公安厅。学院前身为1949年成立的山西省公安学校，历经多次调整与升格，于2016年正式更名为山西警察学院，2020年增列为学士学位授权单位。学院坚持政治建校、立德树人，以培养高素质警务人才为目标，被誉为“三晋警官的摇篮”。

Shanxi Police College is an ordinary institution of higher education approved by the Ministry of Education and sponsored by the People's Government of Shanxi Province, under the supervision of the Shanxi Provincial Public Security Department. Formerly known as Shanxi Provincial Public Security School founded in 1949, it underwent several adjustments and upgrades before being officially renamed Shanxi Police College in 2016 and becoming a bachelor's degree-granting unit in 2020. Adhering to the principles of building the college through politics and fostering virtue through education, the college aims to cultivate high-quality police talents and is known as "the cradle of police officers in Shanxi".

学院现有3个校区，占地面积884.58亩，建筑面积28.8万平方米，教学科研仪器设备总值5005万元，纸质图书80万册。设有15个本科专业，其中网络安全与执法为国家一流专业建设点，侦查学、治安学等5个专业为省级一流专业建设点。现有教职工482人，专任教师288人，全日制在校本科生5452人，建有83个校内实验实训场所和60个校外实践基地。

The college has 3 campuses covering an area of 884.58 mu, with a building area of 288,000 square meters. The total value of teaching and research instruments and equipment is 50.05 million yuan, and there are 800,000 paper books in the library. It offers 15 undergraduate majors, including Cyber Security and Law Enforcement as a national first-class professional construction site, and 5 majors such as Investigation and Public Security as provincial first-class professional construction sites. There are 482 faculty members, 288 full-time teachers, and 5,452 full-time undergraduates. The college has built 83 on-campus experimental training sites and 60 off-campus practice bases.

学院始终秉承“忠诚、正义、厚德、博学”的校训，深化“教学练战一体化”人才培养模式，形成了“德法兼修、专博相济、学战结合、滴灌培育”的教育理念。自1979年以来，为山西公安政法机关培养6万余名专门人才，培训在职民警10万余人次，毕业生多数扎根基层公安一线，成为业务骨干和领导力量，为山西公安事业发展作出重要贡献。

Adhering to the school motto of "Loyalty, Justice, Virtue, and Erudition", the college deepens the "integration of teaching, training, and combat" talent cultivation model, forming an educational philosophy of "combining morality and law, integrating specialization and breadth, linking learning and combat, and nurturing with drip irrigation". Since 1979, it has trained over 60,000 professionals for Shanxi's public security and political legal organs and trained more than 100,000 in-service police officers. Most graduates have rooted themselves in grassroots public security frontlines, becoming backbone professionals and leading forces, making important contributions to the development of Shanxi's public security cause.
