陕西学前师范学院是一所以教师教育为主、以培养学前教育师资为特色的省属公办普通本科院校。学校前身为1963年由陕西省西安师范学校（1906年建立）和陕西省教师进修学校（1956年建立）合并成立的陕西教育学院，2012年3月经教育部批准改制更名为陕西学前师范学院，是目前全国唯一以学前师范命名的本科院校。

Shaanxi Xueqian Normal University is a public undergraduate college affiliated to Shaanxi Province, focusing on teacher education with distinctive features in cultivating preschool education teachers. Its predecessor was Shaanxi Institute of Education, established in 1963 through the merger of Shaanxi Xi'an Normal School (founded in 1906) and Shaanxi Teachers' Training School (founded in 1956). Approved by the Ministry of Education in March 2012, it was restructured and renamed Shaanxi Xueqian Normal University, currently the only undergraduate university named after "preschool normal education" in China.

学校秉承“厚德博学”校训和“立身传道，自强不息，大气大度，止于至善”办学精神，坚持“师范性、地方性、应用型”办学定位，构建“价值塑造、知识传授、能力培养、素质提升、实践锻炼”五位一体人才培养体系。现有长安、雁塔两个校区，图书馆藏纸质图书167万余册、电子图书146万余册，设有13个教学单位，学前教育、体育教育等2个专业入选国家级一流本科专业建设点，小学教育、心理学等9个专业入选省级一流本科专业建设点。

Adhering to the school motto of "Houde Boxue" (Virtue and Erudition) and the educational spirit of "Establishing oneself and preaching, striving for self-improvement, being magnanimous, and pursuing perfection", the university adheres to the orientation of "normal education, locality, and application", and constructs a five-in-one talent training system of "value shaping, knowledge imparting, ability training, quality improvement, and practical exercise". It has two campuses in Chang'an and Yanta, with a library collection of over 1.67 million paper books and 1.46 million e-books. There are 13 teaching units, among which 2 majors including Preschool Education and Physical Education are selected as national first-class undergraduate major construction sites, and 9 majors including Primary Education and Psychology are selected as provincial first-class undergraduate major construction sites.
