山西铁道职业技术学院始建于1958年，是经山西省人民政府批准成立的公办全日制普通高等职业学校，坐落于国家产教融合试点城市太原市。学校是国家现代学徒制试点单位、山西省双高计划建设单位，也是十四五时期教育强国推进工程建设单位及教育部职业教育信息化标杆校建设单位。作为山西省唯一一所公办铁道类高等院校，学院以轨道交通专业为特色，构建了“4+2+N”专业群体系，开设铁道信号自动控制、城市轨道交通机电技术、铁道交通运营管理等核心专业，形成了覆盖铁路、城市轨道全产业链的专业布局。

Shanxi Railway Vocational and Technical College, founded in 1958, is a public full-time higher vocational school approved by the Shanxi Provincial People's Government. Located in Taiyuan, a national pilot city for industry-education integration, it is a national modern apprenticeship pilot unit, a Shanxi Provincial Double-High Plan construction unit, and a key construction unit for the Education Power Promotion Project during the 14th Five-Year Plan period. As the only public railway higher education institution in Shanxi, the college features rail transit specialties and has built a "4+2+N" professional group system, offering core majors such as Railway Signal Automatic Control, Urban Rail Transit Electromechanical Technology, and Railway Transportation Operation Management, forming a professional layout covering the entire industrial chain of railway and urban rail transit.

学院建有轨道交通综合实训中心、智能制造实训基地等高水平实践教学平台，与中铁太原局、太原市轨道交通公司等企业深度合作，共建校外实践基地40余个，荣获山西省产教融合特别贡献奖。近年来，学生在世界机器人锦标赛、全国职业院校技能大赛中屡获佳绩，其中获全国总决赛银奖1项、省级金奖3项，连续四年获评山西省“互联网+”创新创业优秀组织单位。学校积极开展国际交流，承办金砖国家职业技能大赛铁路信号设备维护赛项，入选教育部职业教育国际交流合作典型案例。

The college has built high-level practical teaching platforms such as the Rail Transit Comprehensive Training Center and Intelligent Manufacturing Training Base. It has in-depth cooperation with enterprises like China Railway Taiyuan Bureau and Taiyuan Rail Transit Company, co-constructing over 40 off-campus practice bases, and has been awarded the Special Contribution Award for Industry-Education Integration in Shanxi Province. In recent years, students have achieved outstanding results in the World Robot Championship and National Vocational College Skills Competition, including 1 national silver award and 3 provincial gold awards. The college has been rated as an Excellent Organization Unit for Shanxi Province's "Internet+" Innovation and Entrepreneurship for four consecutive years. Actively engaging in international exchanges, it has hosted the Railway Signal Equipment Maintenance event of the BRICS National Vocational Skills Competition and was selected as a typical case of international exchange and cooperation in vocational education by the Ministry of Education.
