电信工程学院前身是2008年创办的河海大学文天学院电气信息工程系,是学校最早招生的院系之一,2012年获得学士学位授权,办学历经18载,已有13届毕业生。2018年12月,原河海大学文天学院经教育部批准转设为独立的民办本科高校——皖江工学院,电气信息工程系升格为电气信息工程学院,下设5个本科专业。2024年2月,根据学校发展需要,研究决定把电气信息工程学院分设成2个独立的教学单位,由其中电气工程及其自动化、自动化和通信工程3个专业组成电信工程学院。
The School of Electrical and Information Engineering (SEIE) traces its roots back to the Department of Electrical and Information Engineering of Wentian College, Hohai University, founded in 2008. It was one of the earliest departments to enroll students at the university and obtained the authorization to confer bachelor's degrees in 2012. With 18 years of educational experience, it has produced 13 classes of graduates. In December 2018, Wentian College, Hohai University was approved by the Ministry of Education to be transformed into an independent private undergraduate institution—Wanjiang University of Technology, and the Department of Electrical and Information Engineering was upgraded to the School of Electrical and Information Engineering, offering 5 undergraduate programs. In February 2024, in response to the university's development needs, the School of Electrical and Information Engineering was divided into two independent teaching units, with the School of Telecommunications Engineering composed of three programs: Electrical Engineering and Automation, Automation, and Communication Engineering.
学院现有在校本科生2056人,任课教师100人。师资队伍由专任教师﹢产业教师﹢外聘教师构成,其中:自有教师61人,外聘教师39人,高级职称教师42人,省级教学名师4人,校级教学名师2人,双师型教师28人。学院学科专业建设紧密围绕安徽省十大新兴产业培养应用型人才。建有安徽省高校开发及数据应用重点实验室,马鞍山市无线传感网与智能感知工程技术研究中心和电子信息校级重点学科,重视科研反哺教学。
The school currently has 2,056 undergraduate students and 100 faculty members. The teaching staff consists of full-time teachers, industrial teachers, and external teachers, including 61 in-house teachers, 39 external teachers, 42 senior-title teachers, 4 provincial-level teaching masters, 2 university-level teaching masters, and 28 dual-qualified teachers. The development of disciplines and programs in the school is closely focused on cultivating applied talents for Anhui Province's ten emerging industries. It has established the Key Laboratory of Development and Data Application for Colleges and Universities in Anhui Province, the Ma'anshan Engineering Technology Research Center for Wireless Sensor Networks and Intelligent Perception, and a university-level key discipline in electronic information, emphasizing the integration of scientific research into teaching.
通信工程专业被评为省一流专业和省级双特色专业(群)建设点,自动化专业是省级六卓越一拔尖专业,电气工程及其自动化是校级一流专业。实验中心建有14个教学实验室,实验设备2000余台套,设备总值1000余万元,实验教学建筑面积2200余平方米。学院深入开展产教融合协同育人培养应用型人才模式改革,完成省级重大教学改革课题和教育部产学合作协同育人教改项目各1项,获得校级教学特等奖和省级教学成果二等奖各1项。
The Communication Engineering program has been rated as a provincial first-class program and a provincial-level construction site for dual-featured programs (clusters). The Automation program is a provincial-level "Six Excellence and One Top" program, and Electrical Engineering and Automation is a university-level first-class program. The Experimental Center has 14 teaching laboratories with over 2,000 sets of experimental equipment, totaling more than 10 million yuan in value, and an experimental teaching area of over 2,200 square meters. The school has deeply promoted the reform of the applied talent cultivation model through industry-education integration and collaborative education, completing one provincial-level major teaching reform project and one Ministry of Education industry-academia cooperation collaborative education project, and has won one university-level teaching special award and one provincial-level second prize for teaching achievements.

It has established 7 provincial-level university-enterprise cooperation teaching practice bases. In practical teaching links such as curriculum design, engineering training, and graduation internships, it proactively introduces enterprise teachers and high-quality project-based teaching resources, encouraging students to complete their graduation projects with real topics in enterprises, significantly enhancing the employment competitiveness of graduates. The school attaches importance to cultivating students' practical and innovative abilities and actively explores paths for cultivating engineer literacy. It took the lead in the province to pilot the application of innovative achievements obtained during school (such as authorized invention patents, provincial or higher-level awards in university student discipline competitions, and papers) by fresh graduates to apply for engineering series technical titles from the Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security. For the 2024 graduating class, 69 graduates were approved as assistant engineers and 90 as technicians, with an employment rate of over 96%. Graduates have received wide acclaim from employers and attention from central media.
