通化师范学院是吉林省东南部唯一一所省属本科院校，坐落于长白山脚下、鸭绿江畔、中朝边境的通化市。学校办学历史可追溯至1929年成立的辽东省立（通化）第六师范学校，1978年经国家教育部批准升格为本科院校并定现名。学校秉承“崇德广业、与时偕行”的校训，坚守质朴教育理念，传承以靖宇精神建校育人的办学特色，凸显“一魂一师一山一城一族一史”的办学优势，为地方经济社会发展作出重要贡献。

Tonghua Normal University is the only provincial undergraduate college in southeastern Jilin Province, located in Tonghua City at the foot of Changbai Mountain, by the Yalu River, and on the Sino-Korean border. Its educational history dates back to the Liaodong Provincial (Tonghua) Sixth Normal School founded in 1929. In 1978, it was approved by the Ministry of Education to be upgraded to an undergraduate college and adopted its current name. Adhering to the school motto of "Virtue and Enterprise, Keeping Pace with the Times", the university upholds a simple educational philosophy, inherits the school-running characteristic of fostering talents with the Jingyu Spirit, and highlights the advantages of "one soul, one teacher, one mountain, one city, one ethnicity, one history", making important contributions to local economic and social development.

学校占地面积49万平方米，建筑面积23万平方米，设有21个教学单位，开设48个本科专业，涵盖文学、理学、法学、工学、医学等9大学科门类。现有教职员工963人，全日制在校生12386人，拥有3个国家级一流本科专业建设点、14个省级一流专业建设点，以及国家级语言文字规范化示范校、全国非遗教育特色院校等多项荣誉称号。

The university covers an area of 490,000 square meters with a building area of 230,000 square meters. It has 21 teaching units and offers 48 undergraduate majors, covering 9 disciplines including literature, science, law, engineering, and medicine. There are 963 faculty members and 12,386 full-time students. It boasts 3 national first-class undergraduate major construction sites, 14 provincial first-class major construction sites, and has been honored with titles such as National Model School for Language Standardization and National Characteristic College for Intangible Cultural Heritage Education.
