天津农学院始建于1976年，是天津市属唯一以农业为特色的普通本科高校，2001年天津市城乡经济学校并入，1996年首批通过教育部本科教学合格评价，2007年本科教学工作水平评估获优秀。学校以农科为主体，涵盖农学、工学、管理学、理学、经济学、文学、艺术学七大学科门类，形成紧贴区域经济社会发展、服务现代都市型农业的办学特色。

Tianjin Agricultural University, founded in 1976, is the only municipal undergraduate university with agricultural characteristics in Tianjin. In 2001, Tianjin Urban and Rural Economic School was merged into it. It was among the first batch to pass the undergraduate teaching qualification evaluation by the Ministry of Education in 1996 and won excellent results in the undergraduate teaching level evaluation by the Ministry of Education in 2007. With agriculture as its main discipline, the university covers seven disciplines including agriculture, engineering, management, science, economics, literature and art, forming a school-running characteristic that closely serves regional economic and social development and modern urban agriculture.

学校现有3个校区，占地1370亩，校舍建筑面积47万平方米，在校生1.5万人。设有15个学院（部），49个本科专业及方向，10个一级学科学术硕士学位授权点、6个硕士专业学位授权点。植物学与动物学、农业科学学科进入ESI全球前1%，拥有40个省部级科研平台，近五年承担各级科技项目1500余项，获省部级以上科技奖励24项，《天津农学院学报》为全国优秀农业期刊。

The university currently has 3 campuses, covering an area of 1370 mu with a building area of 470,000 square meters and 15,000 students. It has 15 colleges (departments), 49 undergraduate majors and directions, 10 first-level discipline academic master's degree authorization points, and 6 professional master's degree authorization points. The disciplines of Botany & Zoology and Agricultural Science have entered the top 1% of ESI globally. It has 40 provincial and ministerial-level scientific research platforms, undertaking more than 1,500 scientific and technological projects at all levels in the past five years, and winning 24 scientific and technological awards above the provincial and ministerial level. "Journal of Tianjin Agricultural University" is a national excellent agricultural journal.

学校坚持立德树人，实施质量立校、人才强校等战略，打造高水平师资队伍，现有教职工1000余人，其中国家级人才3人、省部级人才57人。积极开展国际交流，与30多个国家和地区的60余所高校建立合作关系，培养知农爱农新型人才，2021年入选乡村振兴人才培养优质校，正加快建设特色鲜明的高水平农业大学。

Adhering to moral education and implementing strategies such as quality-oriented and talent-strengthening, the university has built a high-level faculty with over 1,000 staff, including 3 national-level talents and 57 provincial-level talents. It actively carries out international exchanges, establishing cooperative relations with more than 60 universities in over 30 countries and regions. In 2021, it was selected as a high-quality university for rural revitalization talent training, striving to build a distinctive high-level agricultural university.
