天津海运职业学院源于1962年建立的天津市科学技术进修学院,2006年2月经天津市人民政府批准成立,现隶属于天津市教育委员会。学院坐落于海河教育园区,占地面积976亩,建筑面积20万余平方米,在校生一万余名,是天津市唯一一所航海技术类高等职业院校。
Tianjin Maritime Vocational College originated from Tianjin Institute of Scientific and Technical Further Education established in 1962. Approved by the Tianjin Municipal People's Government in February 2006, it is now affiliated to the Tianjin Municipal Education Commission. Located in the Haihe Education Park, the college covers an area of 976 mu with a building area of over 200,000 square meters and has more than 10,000 students. It is the only higher vocational college specializing in maritime technology in Tianjin.

The college is a crew training institution approved by the Maritime Safety Administration of the People's Republic of China and holds crew education and training qualifications recognized by the International Maritime Organization (IMO). It is the largest and most fully functional academic education and training base for seafarers in North China. Focusing on the national marine power strategy, the "Belt and Road" initiative, and the "Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development" strategy, the college has built six characteristic professional groups covering 32 majors, including maritime technology, ship and marine engineering equipment, digital intelligent port and shipping economy, cruise tourism, modern information technology, and special equipment. Among them, international cruise stewardship management, maritime technology, and marine engineering technology are key majors under the Ministry of Education's Higher Vocational Education Innovation and Development Plan.
学院积极推进产教融合,与皇家加勒比游轮集团等国际龙头企业共建产业学院和实训基地,航海类专业全面实施订单培养,毕业生就业率连续多年保持在95%以上。2024年,学院牵头成立海韵国际邮轮人才培养职业教育集团,并与乌兹别克斯坦塔什干国立交通大学共建鲁班工坊,助力"一带一路"沿线国家职业教育发展。
The college actively promotes the integration of industry and education, co-building industrial colleges and training bases with international leading enterprises such as Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. All maritime-related majors implement order-based training, with the employment rate of graduates remaining above 95% for many years. In 2024, the college took the lead in establishing the Ocean Charm International Cruise Talent Cultivation Vocational Education Group and co-built a Luban Workshop with Tashkent State Transport University in Uzbekistan, contributing to the development of vocational education in countries along the "Belt and Road".
