天津轻工职业技术学院是一所公办全日制普通高等学校，隶属天津渤海轻工投资集团有限公司，占地面积842亩，建筑面积19.7万平方米，在校生11000余人，教职工469人。学校前身为2001年由天津市第二轻工业学校、天津市第二轻工业局职工大学、天津市第二轻工业局干部中等专业学校合并组建，2011年整体入驻海河教育园区，并整合天津市轻工职业技术学校、天津市轻工中等职业学校资源。

Tianjin Light Industry Vocational Technical College is a public full-time ordinary higher education institution affiliated to Tianjin Bohai Light Industry Investment Group Co., Ltd. It covers an area of 842 mu with a building area of 197,000 square meters, boasting over 11,000 students and 469 faculty members. Established in 2001 through the merger of Tianjin No.2 Light Industry School, Tianjin No.2 Light Industry Bureau Staff University, and Tianjin No.2 Light Industry Bureau Cadre Secondary Professional School, the college moved to Haihe Education Park in 2011 and integrated resources from Tianjin Light Industry Vocational School and Tianjin Light Industry Secondary Vocational School.

学校是中国特色高水平高职学校建设单位、国家级优秀示范性骨干高职院校，开设机械工程、电子信息与自动化、经济管理、艺术工程等5个学院，33个高职专业及2个联合培养技能本科专业，建有模具设计与制造、光伏工程技术等7个优质专业群。其中国模具设计与制造、光伏工程技术专业群为中国特色高水平专业群，大数据技术专业群为市级高水平专业群。

As a construction unit of China's high-level vocational colleges with distinctive features and a national excellent demonstration backbone higher vocational college, it houses 5 schools including Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Information and Automation, Economic Management, and Art Engineering, offering 33 higher vocational programs and 2 jointly cultivated skill-based undergraduate programs. The college has built 7 high-quality professional groups such as Mold Design and Manufacturing, and Photovoltaic Engineering Technology, among which Mold Design and Manufacturing and Photovoltaic Engineering Technology are national high-level professional groups with distinctive features, while Big Data Technology is a municipal high-level professional group.
