天津生物工程职业技术学院溯源于1959年成立的天津市中药学校，2006年经天津市人民政府批准、教育部备案正式建院，是天津市服务医药产业链条较为完整的公办高职院校。学院坐落于天津经济技术开发区西区，现有滨海新区、河北区两个校区，总占地面积20余万平方米，教学仪器设备总值5000多万元，在校生5000余人，教职工200余人，专业涵盖中药、化学药、生物药、医疗器械等生物医药产业主要领域。

Tianjin Vocational College of Bioengineering traces its roots to Tianjin Chinese Materia Medica School established in 1959. Officially founded in 2006 with the approval of Tianjin Municipal People's Government and备案 by the Ministry of Education, it is a public vocational college in Tianjin with a relatively complete service for the pharmaceutical industry chain. Located in the West District of Tianjin Economic and Technological Development Zone, the college has two campuses in Binhai New Area and Hebei District, covering a total area of more than 200,000 square meters, with teaching instruments and equipment worth more than 50 million yuan, over 5,000 students, and more than 200 faculty members. Its majors cover major fields of the biomedical industry such as traditional Chinese medicine, chemical medicine, biological medicine, and medical devices.

学院构建了中医药、生物技术、药学、医疗器械4个专业群，开设20个生物医药特色专业，其中国家级示范专业点1个，中央财政支持重点建设专业1个，市级高水平专业群1个。学院重视实践教学，建有GMP车间、现代中药提取实训基地等40余个实训场所，以及滨海新区唯一高校中医药标本馆，与天津医药集团、康希诺生物等知名企业开展订单培养，近五年毕业生就业率保持在96%以上，为京津冀生物医药产业培养了2万余名高素质技术技能人才。

The college has constructed 4 professional groups including traditional Chinese medicine, biotechnology, pharmacy, and medical devices, offering 20 biomedical特色 majors, including 1 national-level demonstration major, 1 key construction major supported by central finance, and 1 municipal-level high-level professional group. The college attaches importance to practical teaching, with more than 40 training sites such as GMP workshops and modern Chinese medicine extraction training bases, as well as the only university Chinese medicine specimen museum in Binhai New Area. It carries out order-based training with well-known enterprises such as Tianjin Pharmaceutical Group and CanSino Biologics. The employment rate of graduates has remained above 96% in the past five years, cultivating more than 20,000 high-quality technical and skilled talents for the biomedical industry in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
