西藏藏医药大学坐落在雪域高原、世界屋脊、阳光之城的拉萨市，是一所医教研于一体的民族传统医药高等学校，是教育部批准的全国唯一单独设置的藏医药高等学校，是国家中医药管理局和西藏自治区人民政府共建高校。学校始建于1989年9月，前身是西藏藏医学院，2018年更名为西藏藏医药大学。学校构建了以本科教育为主体，研究生教育、继续教育协调发展的多层次教育体系，拥有1个一级学科博士点（中医学-藏医）、2个学术硕士学位点（中医学-藏医、中药学-藏药）、1个专业硕士学位点（中医学-藏医）及1个藏医药博士后科研流动站，开设藏医学、藏药学、护理学等6个本科专业，培养了中国第一批藏医药本科生、硕士生、博士生。
