德岛大学，英文名称：The University of Tokushima，简称德大，是一所著名的日本国立大学。该校创立于1949年，由德岛师范学校、德岛青年师范学校、德岛医科大学、德岛医学专门学校、德岛高等学校及德岛工业专门学校合并而成。学校的基本理念是尊重学生的个性，培养掌握技能、富有进取精神且具备国际化视野的人才。

The University of Tokushima, abbreviated as Tokushima University, is a renowned national university in Japan. Founded in 1949, it was formed by the merger of Tokushima Normal School, Tokushima Youth Normal School, Tokushima Medical University, Tokushima Medical College, Tokushima High School, and Tokushima Industrial College. 德岛大学以工科见长，工学部的前身是1922年成立的四国地区唯一的高等技术学校——德岛高等工业学校，1949年被并入德岛大学。随着日本经济发展，工学部不断扩大规模与领域，现由覆盖广泛技术科学领域的7个学科和1个中心构成，除光应用工学科外，其他学科均设有白天课程与夜间课程，夜间课程为白天在职人员提供学习机会。

Tokushima University is particularly strong in engineering. The Faculty of Engineering traces its roots to Tokushima Higher Technical School, established in 1922 as the only higher technical school in the Shikoku region, which was incorporated into Tokushima University in 1949. With the development of Japan's economy, the Faculty of Engineering has continuously expanded its scale and fields. It now consists of 7 departments and 1 center covering a wide range of technical science areas. Except for the Department of Optical Engineering, all other departments offer both daytime and evening courses, with evening courses providing learning opportunities for working professionals.

该校设有综合科学部、医学部、齿学部、药学部、工学部等多个学部，大学院设有人间自然环境研究科、医科学教育部、口腔科学教育部等多个研究科。在日本，德岛大学是中国、四国地方第一所有校友获得诺贝尔奖的大学，也是除旧帝国大学之外，第一所出现诺贝尔物理学奖得主的大学。

The university has multiple faculties including the Faculty of Integrated Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Pharmacy, and Faculty of Engineering, among others. The graduate school includes several graduate programs such as the Graduate School of Human and Natural Environment Studies, Graduate School of Medical Science Education, and Graduate School of Oral Science Education. In Japan, Tokushima University is the first university in the Chugoku and Shikoku regions to have an alumnus win the Nobel Prize, and it is also the first university outside the former Imperial Universities to have a Nobel laureate in Physics.
